Does it matter if he is ten years older if he starts every game and we go up?
Already writing off players (who haven't even signed yet), the team etc before a ball has even been kicked.

It's likely Downes was going to leave whatever happened, most of us could see what a prospect he was. With that in mind, I would much rather have Joe back for 2 years then take another loan player.
Joe will play for the shirt, for the fans, he will improve Grimes. Ok he's not going to be the same Joe that left but his experience will be crucial.
My only concern would be over how Martin uses him. | |
