My and an old pal are finally about to do our long-planned 3 week road trip from Nashville down to New Orleans. Have created several playlists but will produce a LFW one too.
So if you feel so inclined please feel free to suggest...long road driving classics.
QPsyR got to Horse With No Name before me but that's a definite roadtrip inclusion.
In the theme of being on the road;
B-52s - Dirty Back Road
Paw - Dragline
Shelter - In The Van Again
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Here's my one hand on the wheel, elbow out the window, breeze riffling your hair, Tennessee countryside rolling past, no rush, nowhere particular to go, Americana playlist...
First up, hard to believe this is both a Eurovision entry and from a Dutch band, but it's great driving music
My favourite version of this timeless classic
Pure driving blues from the incredibly underrated Tom Heyman
Another favourite cover, it couldn't be more apt..
If you should find yourselves driving through the Smoky Mountains section of the Appalachians it is compulsory to play Dolly Parton tunes until you are past them.
The grass is always greener.
