He has a podcast with comedian with Joe Wilkinson .
He was asked a question regarding the grounds he doesn’t like playing at.
Old Trafford because he’s never won there and our little place as the pitch seems very small.
He did caveat it by saying it feels that way because the stands are so close to the pitch and he did say the atmosphere is cracking.
Good podcast and some very honest opinions.

I’ve always thought he comes across as a funny, pretty decent guy when I’ve heard him interviewed.

He tends to dive around a bit but he is a very good player. He has Wegerle moments but not that often. As a human being he always seems very cultured and down to earth. For all the abuse he seems to get as a footballer for his occasional antics I really like him as a person. The podcasts are very amusing and well thought out.

Never knowingly right.

He’s not your average footballer. Well spoken and very grounded.

I always though he was a secret Rangers fan as he missed so many against us.

He is and admitted it . In relation to handball incident against Rotherham. He stuck it in with his elbow . Actually had a conversation with the referee at half time about.
I hate cheating myself but we are naive if we think it hasn’t worked for us on occasions.
I’m not very good at posting links but its on BBC sounds.
By the way . Wish we had him up front.

Our pitch is small-ish. 112x72 yards.

Min/max size is;

100/130 yards long
50/100 yards wide

Amazing to think that some pitches can be as wide as others are long.

Does anyone know if our pitch is actually small? I am sure I heard that it was a myth as the stands made it appear that way but it isn’t particularly small.

Can’t disagree but rare to find a player that won’t cheat these days given half a chance, they claim for absolutely everything and fake injury consistently.

Heres hoping he bangs in shitloads for Leeds before the y come to our place. Last thing I want is A Sky w**kfest with them going up at our gaff.

I seem to remember hearing or knowing that our pitch was actually bigger than Highbury.

Although Arsenal supporters always complained about coming to Loftus Road, mainly due to the size of the pitch and watching Tony Adams get screwed into the floor by Roy Wegerle.

Our pitch is 22nd in area size. Rotherham and, surprisingly, Birmingham are smaller than us. Hull have the largest playing area followed, again surprisingly, Ipswich.

One thing stands out about Bamford is his ability to read the game and that is why he is in position to either score or miss absolute sitters and it normally is the latter .
Before his injuries he would literally spring into the box (he is sneaky fast IMO) and be ready to pounce.
If he was playing for us he would score a bag full of goals under Marti.

Have felt for quite a while now that we play better on the bigger more expansive pitches away from home, and our points total on the road in recent seasons seems to mirror this. The tightness of the Loftus Road pitch requires quick decisive forward passing as the lack of available space favours defending and defensive formations.

Living in Notts, not far from where the Bamfords live, and being very involved in grass roots football round these parts, I've met a lot of people who know Bamford and / or his family.

No one has a bad word to say about him. A couple of things to note...

- he didn't want to go to Chelsea. The management had a plan to draft him steadily into the first team...but Frank Clarke, then DoF, basically said we need the money son, you're off.
- I know the academy guy who first signed him as a kid. They were worried how he'd cope as - well frankly a bit of a posh public schoolboy. He said he was brilliant - a few of the other lads tested him very early on, he took all the banter on the chin, gave as good as he got, and was 'accepted' as a result.

Yeh he dives. So does Paul Smyth. So do half the players in the league.

Only time I heard about him getting riled was at a nightclub in Notts. Probably the last place he expected to see a QPR fan, but he didn't take my son's banter well - doing the 'pocket sign' and repeatedly shouting 'Clint Hill!' (proud dad moment)

Oh and you may remember his unsuccessful loan spell at Burnley. He was popular with the players, but Dyche couldn't stand him. Kept going on about the posh bit, and wouldn't pick him. When he went back with Boro the next year, during the warm up all the Burnley players were coming over for high fives and chat. Dyche went over and shook his hand - on camera it all looked very pleasant, but allegedly he got his hand in a vice like grip, squeezed it like fck, and wouldn't let go.

Yes and it is often nauseating to watch it.

I wonder if it ever occurs to those who condemn it that fans try to cheat, too? How many times have you heard a loud cry for 'handball' when it was impossible to see if it was, or not? Similarly, cries for a free kick or a 'penalty'.

This is true although we are talking levels here, fans of a team trying to claim a penalty from the stands is a long way from players rolling around the pitch trying to get a fellow professional sent off.

There has always been an element of player cheating just feel it has gone too far and almost seems it is taught to be part of the game, would much prefer more honesty.

Regarding the Dyche thing he seems to have disliked Bamford because of his public school background m reflects badly on him in my view but hey ho. Not all ps are Eton, Harrow and Winchester.

Bamford has a few blatant ones that instantly come to mind, too. There was the thing against Aston Villa where he dived to get Anwar El-Ghazi sent off in the melee after Leeds had cheated (when Bielsa acknowledged it and let them score). There was the dive against us that got Begovic sent off. There was the handball against Rotherham. Probably forgetting a few.
