Lots of people say that Trump is worse, or he’s a threat to democracy. In what way is he bad? What would he do in office that’s so awful? The democrats say he is a threat to democracy because he didn’t accept the result of the election. Except he stood down and went through the normal hand over process, and the democrats do the exact fvcking same when they lose 😅. Now that rhetoric isn’t working, they’ve resorted to calling Trump weird. Which is strange for people who think men can stick a wig on and be women instantly, no questions asked. 😅

One for Tummer... on 16:52 - Sep 7 by DJack | I agree with that she wouldn't. But as I started the post about Trump and his lies it is funny to see people pivot it to her. She has failings sure but nowhere near as many as Trump and that dangerous narcissist made it to the Presidency and after that some fools would vote for him again. |
It wasn’t a conscious attempt to pivot it to her. Anotherjohn made a valid comment about left field factors that may influence the election and used hunter biden’s naughtiness as an example. I then chipped in and said the debates will be important too because Harris has a record of struggle without her notes and teleprompter. It was a very organic conversation. We’ve been talking about Trump for ten years. He’s a known quantity. Harris is the new kid on the block and people are thinking and hoping she’s the answer when it’s quite clear to anyone with a functioning brain that she’s definitely not.

Well that’s just stupid. Why should a persons “stock rise dramatically” based solely on their ethnicity, sex and age? When are we going to grow up and start judging people based on character, moral fibre, knowledge and ability? You know, actual important things over the superficial nonsense about how much melanin they produce in their skin or what genitals they have.

It’s not how I see it, it’s how the general public see it. I’ve seen nothing up to now impressive about Harris but she’s moved the needle because she is who she is and she’s not Joe Biden. It’s also how the Republican Party see it as they’ve struggled up to now to find a particular attack line as she doesn’t fit the usual candidate mold. You seem to think I’m both a Harris supporter and for equality of outcome. What’s given you that idea?

He didn’t inspire people to break the law he told them to march peacefully and make their voices heard. Those people who broke the law did so of their own accord. If we are going to apply those standards then surely Biden should be up for inspiring an assassination attempt for saying Trump should be put in the crosshairs a few days before someone came within millimetres of putting a bullet in his head. That would be ridiculous though. It’s all part of the dumbing down of politics, the control of language and speech is worryingly extreme in the last few years. [Post edited 8 Sep 17:14]

He inspired them, he made a speech exhorting them to fight, whichever context you want to take it in and at the end he urged people to march to the Capitol. If he hadn't strongly urged people to march would those events have happened? It wasn't just that one speech though, for weeks he was making aggressive speeches about fighting and lets face it, his supporters (proud boys, MAGA) arethick enoughto react to his language. https://www.businessinsider.com/trumps-history-of-support-from-white-supremacist https://www.thenation.com/article/society/trump-militia-election/ We weren't discussing Biden but if we were, I'd be agreeing because Biden is no more fit to be POTUS than Trump.

The convictions are politically driven and the sexual assault isn’t proven, it was a civil case which requires a much less high standard of evidence than a criminal case. If you’re driven by that then I have a bridge to sell you.

Arrant nonsense, you're being g blinded by the sites you peruse. The serial assault case WAS proven. His defamation trials underscore that trial result. And you are totally ignoring the fact he is a convicted felon on multiple counts...every count he was found UNAMINOUSLY GUILTY. He turns up and plays the bumbling oaf who forgot his speech, then he goes on to give a very good "off the cuff" speech. Talking of arrant nonsense, Shut the fvck up about “the sites I peruse”. I read the BBC mostly. You don’t have a clue what you’re talking about when it comes to civil cases, quite clearly. You don’t understand how low the bar of evidence needs to be. The civil case is completely meaningless and doesn’t mean anything in reality. A civil case is simply a weigh up of evidence and “more likely than not” in the opinion of a judge that something did or didn’t happen. I’ve even been ruled against in a civil claim for employment where the employer wanted to get rid of me due to financial constraints. He sacked me for ‘gross misconduct’(with no explanation) I got angry with him afterward. So the employer lied in court and said my anger caused him to sack me for gross misconduct 😅 he also had a barrister which leant him credibility. The judge ruled in his favour and I had to pay his costs. I know first hand how easily a judge can get a civil claim wrong, based on hear say and circumstantial at best evidence. Trump also may well have done something criminal to get the felony convictions. However, what he was found guilty of is so minor, no one else would have been brought on such petty charges. Millions of people break the law all the time and it’s left. It’s clearly politically motivated and used as a cudgel to beat Trump over the head with. and if you can’t see it then you have a screw loose. It’s possibly all the left wing media you consume 😂

There are several examples of Corbyn chucking his morals and principles in the bin when it seemed politically expedient to do so. Pretending to be a “7 out of 10 remainer” after forty years of opposing and voting against anything and everything to do with Europe was a bit of a clue as to how sacred his beliefs were.
