Swansea. V Leeds Ticket Update on 21:02 - Nov 20 by SullutaCreturned | A lot of our fans have never seen the really bad times. They weren't there to watch us battle against dropping to the conference, they weren't there before that to watch us fight from Div to the 1st and drop back again. A lot of our fans have only known relative success and being in the Championship still counts as relative success against where we were in the early 70's or in the early 2000's. The biggest difference these days is the ownership models, that's what affects fans the most. A lot of clubs these days are owned by foreigners with no links to the area or the club and when they do a bad job and show no interest in doing anything better the fans don't feel inclined to pay a lot of money and give their loyalty to these overseas, faceless people. |
I think it said not long back that there were only 3 PL clubs and 8 championship clubs who are British owned. I can’t stand the present owners, but they are temporary. I am there to support my team.

Spot on , days long gone of North Bank camaradie amongst them who ventured into that hotbed of loyalty for The Swans . Malcolm Struel , Doug Sharpe and Huw Jenkins , all business men at the core and want to make a profit in their overall planning . Yet these past Chairmen , love them or loathe them were The Swans backers at the helm . Now sadly Oil Barons and Hollywood Stars control football . The walk up the slope to the NB at The Vetch on a midweek evening game is priceless . A total money making exercise or toy for the wealthy and celebs . Appreciate time has left me standing still in our new culture these days , but will never forget that walk up the NB Vetch Field slope for a midweek floodlight fixture as a youngster .

More than the whole season of ticket sales? If so they could be more creative with the pricing structure of match day tickets. It's better to have a crowd in to enhance the atmosphere, didn't Germany go down the same route.

I watched Union Berlin v Koln a few years ago. €15 for a ticket and transport to and from the stadium. A curry wurst and gluhein was €5 in the ground. Very good value.

Unfortunately Swansea City runs at a £10 million a year loss. Letting people in free will increase it to £20 Million. Swansea has one of the cheapest average season ticket prices in the Championship, (18th out of 24) at £345 which is £15 per match Sheffield Wednesday is £595 the most expensive at £25 per Match

I didn't say free entry and I didn't mention season tickets, which I pay for several and not complaining, I am talking about match day tickets. We need to get crowds back and match day ticket promotions are the quickest way. Incidentally if we were letting people in for free we would not lose an extra £10M a year because we do not take that on ticket sales in a season. Plus there is the match day spend to build into any figures.

Swansea city already have discounted match day tickets . They range from full price £34 to £27 for less attractive marches. They also offer kids for £1 and also bring a friend for £5. Not sure how much more discount they can offer.

Kids for a £1 is not every game nor is bring a friend for £5, that's where it could improve for a start. Cash turnstiles on match days is another, other clubs manage it.

Do we still run a a 10 million loss? There have been a lot of cuts. What if reducing prices or making more offers actually increased turnover?

What does surprise me is the lack of advertising around the city. Surely the train station can feature something? Makes you feel you are entering a 'football city'

That is the problem, you just cannot rely on a parochial investment. It has to be creative and planned. It has to come with expectation throughout our country. Fact : TV market, in the premier league the Swans had more people watching them for two seasons than any other club in the south west and Wales. We did nothing to bank in on that fact. Other than take over large parts of east wales with young supporters. But what have we done about that since ?

Swansea. V Leeds Ticket Update on 19:42 - Nov 21 with 1115 views | EagleEye | The only surprise here is the apparent surprise to some that we haven’t sold out. Even in our EPL days we failed to sell out a home FA cup quarter final tie versus Spurs. It looks like we’ll sell out our allocation on more away trips than home matches this season

Swansea City marketing is very poor. Atrocious in fact. It’s as if they don’t want extra or new fans to attend. Very odd.

As I’ve been saying for years. We have massive potential and nobody has maximised it nor anything close . I recall BBC Wales literally ignoring our defeats of the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd prefering to lead with ladies netball . It was and is insulting Then we have rugby v football rubbish . Swansea. V Leeds Ticket Update on 16:27 - Nov 22 with 566 views | QJumpingJack | The club should look at the link ticket system. ie get 3 games for the price of 2. There are a lot of home games coming up, we are in a cost of living crisis and Christmas is very close. Someone at the club needs to come up with a pricing strategy and quickly. I wonder when season tickets for next season will become available?

Yes but we know that this last 12 months Levein and Kaplan were busy cutting costs. I'd like to know what the current deficit is?
