Becoming independent from parents (emotionally and financially) is a major life step. Some people never achieve it their whole lives. Others can only achieve it by severing all ties.

He's a great footballer and a gentleman, as he showed again with his behaviour in the AFCON final. He lives humbly and gives a lot of his money to charity.
