Here's the strikers we've bought in the last 10 seasons: 10:19 - Aug 10 with 2086 views

• Cyle Larin – 18 games 8 goals. Good signing but 32 years old
• Damion Downs – 14 games, 0 goals. Utter shyte
• Ross Stewart – 10 goals in 43 games over three seasons. Poor signing due to known injury issue
• Cameron Archer – 6 goals in 65 games. Bad signing
• Ben Brereton-Diaz – 10 games 0 goals - Disaster
• Juan – 32 games, 11 goals. Good signing – for Goztepe
• Onuachu – 25 games 4 goals – poor signing particularly for the PL
• Adam Armstrong – PL 2 goals in 20 games – terrible PL signing but good in Championship – 35 goals in 78 games
• Sekou Mara – 3 goals in 29 games. Disaster
• Armando Broja – 6 goals in 32 games. Poor signing
• Guido Carillo – 7 games, 0 goals. Shyte signing
• Shane Long – 28 goals in 198 games. Uninspired signing but not a main striker
• Che Adams – 41 goals in 164 games. Bang average to poor. I’d like to see his misses stats
• Danny Ings – 34 goals in 67 games. Great signing but disappointed he left to sit on a bench
• Gabiadini – 10 goals in 51 games. Average signing but not an out and out striker

So looking at that list we've had one good signing (Larin) and one great signing (Ings) in 10 seasons

It's still early days for Larin but he looks good at this level if he stays fit.

It would be really nice to see a decent experienced 20+ goals a season striker

Vipotnik or Ballard would have been good. Although Adam Armstrong wasn't good enough for the Premier League, as you say, he scores a lot of goals in the Championship. Wolves' forward line looks ridiculously strong for this level. They've also got Raúl Jiménez.

If whoever we sign scores more goals than those 4 this season, he'll be very good.

A lot of Gabbiadini's appearances must have been as a sub (?).

Makes you think we might be better served to save our money and give Oyekunle a go....

Adam Armstong had 2 stabs at the prem with saints. his first one was 53 app and 4 goals.

I assume that when Wolves get promoted at the end of this season, they'll sell him. If we don't go up with them, would we want him back? Good in the Championship; bad in the Premier League. He was never one of my favourite players, but he does score goals at this level.

In his younger days, he looked like he might even be a future England star, but he hasn't fulfilled that promise:

In the main I don't disagree with you on a lot of this, but you have based your verdict purely on goals scored not in what they achieved.

Shane Long didn't score as many as you would expect but that wasn't his job, likewise Che Adams, he had a good partnership with both Danny Ings and then Adam Armstrong in the promotion winning season.

Gabbiadini scored some great goals early on and although he didn't score many after the first month, he did score some vital ones, his winner at Swansea being the difference between staying up and going down, so weigh it up he was a good signing who did a job and then left at a loss in transfer fee but weigh that up against what we would have lost in that winner at Swansea.

It was nice to have a 20 goal a season striker, we had one last season in Adam Armstrong, when he went we had Larin and Stewart who between them got 16 goals in the second half of the season, you have to take it in context, between them they played 90 minutes each game.

20 goal strikers are had to come by, only Vipotnik at Swansea got that mark last season with 23 goals, the runner up in the golden boot for the championship got 18, only 7 strikers got 14 goals or more

I just think if Swansea can pick up a player like Vipotnik, or Coventry get Haji Wright why can’t we get similar

We did, at Championship level Adam Armstrong has a better scoring record than either of them

It should also be noted that Ben Brereton Diaz scored 22 goals for Blackburn in the Championship
