Looking at the rules surrounding Tonda’s potential FA punishment, I’ve heard a lot of people say that Bielsa didn’t get punished severely because there was no specific FA rule covering spying when Leeds were caught and there are rules now specifically related to spying.

Well yes there are rules specifically related to spying now but they are EFL rules for which we’ve already been judged and punished

There are no FA rules relating specifically to spying. Instead the FA deals with individuals and conduct related to spying by charging them with general misconduct, specifically FA Rule E3.1 (acting improperly or bringing the game into disrepute).

This is the same rule that was in place 8 years before Bielsa was caught spying and admitted to personally spying on every team in the Championship

The FA failed to take any sanctions against Bielsa or Leeds so I think they will struggle legally to give Tonda a ban for spying on 20 teams less than Bielsa

I bet they do though. Is it right for this particular case we have gone for decent lawyers who should pick up on that?

I honestly think with all the hoo ha (sp) around Man City last week, they've just forgotten.

Chances are the fella who was supposed to contact the club and the press has now gone on his holidays and will do it when he gets back.
