How to Get to The Globe Arena:

By Car & Motorcycle:

Motorcycles:

Secure motorcycle parking bays are provided at the Globe Arena. These are sited at each side of the concourse to the front of the Main Stand. No charge is made for parking a motorcycle.

Cars:

Post Code for Sat Nav: LA3 3DE (This takes you to Westgate Caravan Park opposite)

Leave the M6 at junction 34 (signposted Kirkby Lonsdale), then turn right onto the A683 (Caton Road) heading for Lancaster.

Continue on the Caton Road and bear left into one-way system (signposted Heysham, Morecambe, City Centre)

At 2nd roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A589

At 3rd roundabout take the 1st exit onto West Gate. Continue on Westgate for about a mile — you will pass Morecambe Fire Station on your right just before you reach the Globe Arena also on your right.

Parking:

The car parking immediately outside the Globe Arena is allocated through a ticketing system and spaces are not available for purchase on the day of the match. Cars approaching the stadium without a valid parking permit will be turned away by the stewards manning the entrance road.

260 parking places are available at every game at Westgate Primary School. The school is located on Langridge Way and is 450 yards from the Globe Arena. For postcode identification use LA4 4XF.

The cost of parking at the school is £4.00 and all takings are collected and administered directly by the school. The proceeds are used by the school without recourse to the Football Club. Our message to everyone is that we encourage the use of public transport, walking and cycling but we recognise that car travel is the preferred option of many. Until you are convinced of the benefits of leaving your car at home we would ask you to use the school car park thereby keeping the residential streets around the Globe Arena unobstructed and perhaps the best reason of all, to support the local school children.

Great job, Tazzy lad. I'm tempted to go to this one now i'm tooled up with the knowledge.

It's a shame Frontier Land and Noel Edmonds' World of Crinkly Bottom aren't there anymore. It'd been a bumper day out then.

In the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal, I'm wondering if Noel Edmonds' Crinkly Bottom could mean something else.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Any suggestions on where to park at Morecambe? I imagine that school car park will be full pretty quickly.

That website is always my first port of call for information about away games. Tazzy uses much of the content in his away day posts.

Parking is not the easiest round The Globe. Personally I would suggest if you want street parking go past the ground, over the railway bridge (becomes a 20mph zone) and use the side streets. The easiest to get a space would be the ones on the left.

Alternatively, as you turn left at "the shrimp" roundabout (Toby Carvery pub)onto Westgate, take the next right onto Windermere Avenue - this estate is not too bad and actually is the one that a lot of dale fans used to park on for Christie Park. I do recomend the "Troutbeck Chippy" which is on here. Its a 20 minute (1 mile) stroll down the road to the ground passing the "William Mitchell" pub on the way - nice halfway point pint for those in need!

The social club at the club is away fan friendly but not massive and alchol is on sale in the ground.

Hope this helps!

http://goo.gl/maps/N6xJn

Almost forgot - the estate next to the ground where the primary school is (Langridge Way), whatever you do dont park here, its a mini beirut and the local "welcoming committee" have been known to attack away cars and coaches on it!

Its weird here in York, they don't do trick or treating here. The Yorkshire tightarses must not dish out money or sweets (not counting uncle Jimmy) so the kids must not bother.

Not like back home in rockerfella, we used to get trick n treaters upto 2 weeks before and on the actual night there could be anything upto 20 sets of kids knocking on.

Would that be the same "atmosphere" that was created outside the Grey Horse in Accrington a few weeks back? If so, could you please let me know which train you are getting so I can keep my young lad from asking me what tits and beavers are?
