...just shows why you need to "invest" in a cup run.

A gate of 23k, associated publicity and revenue a cup run and semi-final appearance brings. A great advert for League 2 and congratulations to ex-Dale old boys Gary Jones, Will Atkinson, Stephen Darby and Rory McArdle.

Board of directors and management at our club take note!

It would at Old Trafford, The Emirates, Stamford Bridge or the Etihad!

Mind you, I can't remember the last time we had a cup run....

Exactly what we need! Bradford will benefit from a lot of the people that don't normally go who were there tonight probably going again for a few home games at least!

If we went on a cup run and could pull off something even a tenth of what they have just done then it could happen to us too. But as per the last few seasons, we are normally out at the first hurdle.

Set the manager targets and make it strongly known that you wish to make a cup run. The past few years for us in the cups we've looked as if we couldn't care less whether we went out in the first round or put ourselves in a position to get a decent draw.

If you get beat but you've fielded your strongest team and the team look passionate on the pitch to get a result then fair enough you've been beat. However to not be arsed like we haven't seemed to be just doesn't seem right for a club that supposedly needs more fans and money.

I don't think he means financially; I think he means treat cup competitions seriously, i.e. 'an invested interest'.

What he said!

Set targets for participation. For example 3rd round in the FA Cup might mean the difference between keeping and selling a player.

And then build on successful participation - Bradford have done a great job with their games tonight and on of the earlier rounds vs Wigan.

If you earn yourself a reputation as "a good cup side" it sparks interest in the media and more importantly the fanbase.

Clearly not always possible - but I reckon there are 8 to 10 sides in the third round draw at our level or below each year (higher for the two years we were in League 1).

In the last 11 years, we've been underrepresented in that group less than norm for a club at our level and not deemed it a priority when we've had on paper a "favourable" draw.

Other clubs have better cup focus/pedigree and reap the associated benefits.

Bradford are low life, FA Cup cheating scum and should be thrown out (except Jonah) of the League Cup and Arsenal reinstated.

Shame.

To be fair, Bradford are now doing what they should have done a good few seasons ago. I know we rib them for going on about it, but they are big club at this level. They have the fans who turn up every other week, the history, and the means to be a top Championship/lower Premiership side.
Their current league form is what we should expect from them and knocking Arsenal out of the League Cup should not be as big a giant killing act as it was last night, because Bradford are not playing at their true level.
We, as a club, could never hope to emulate Bradford on or off the field over the long-term.
