Hi Freewheeling, yeah good thanks, and yeah two months today exactly.
Then off to Cuba in November mid November. I can't wait for that. Guy at work went a few years ago, told me he met a family who had a shack on the beach, hung out with them for a week, they caught red snapper off the shore and ate fresh fish all week, the shack in its entirety was as big as our office at work which is small, he showed them pics of his flat back home and they were gobsmacked, they genuinely asked if he was a millionaire, he looked out at the beach they lived on, palm trees and sunset and said "no, you're the millionaires". Can't bloody wait.
I'm actually home for the Cardiff away game, it's on my birthday and with the honeymoon that's pretty much the only weekend in that month I'll be able to get down for so if you can make it we could have a few beers that weekend? | |

Yes, I finished last week, cycled just under 4000 miles across 7 countries in 3 months(ish). I did post a little about it on here (somewhere). I did keep a diary and will be putting it up online as a travelogue kind of thing soon; I'll post a link in here when it's done so anyone can browse the gory details if they want. |  |

Welcome back PRF/FOAJP and well done. Home just in time for the season I see. Was that planned or coincidence ? As already pointed out, one of the best or even the very best username on PS has been made to bite the dust. Still, your new one is pretty awesome as well - how do you do it. I had to drop the Jack in mine as well. Could be worse, some guys have has their usernames high-jacked.
Hope you achieved what you wanted from your road trip, looking forward to your travelogue. I bet your thighs are bursting out of your trousers after 4000 miles. You said you would do it and you did. Respect to you.  | | | |

Sounds like a plan Quaker. Are you going to the match? Don't know if I can get a ticket for the Cardiff game, hope so but pretty doubtful. I'll look forward to a couple of cold ones.
Cuba sounds great. Knew you'd sort something good out for yourselves. Should be a great HM. When I was working in the Bahamas, the Bahamian navy tried escorting a Cuban "fishing" boat that was in Bahamian waters into port and the next thing the Bahamians knew a Cuban Mig had literally blew them out of the water and fired on the survivors in the water. The wreck is now a dive site named after one of the victims. We had the Royal Navy turn up pretty soon as the Bahamas are still a British protectorate, but the Bahamian PM at the time accepted an official apology off the Cuban Government as well as a replacement for the gunboat that was sunk of course. | | | |

Thanks. Yeah, that's the most satisfying thing about it - that I did it. There were many times when I wanted to quit, but I didn't and I'm so glad I didn't as no matter all the excuses and self-justifications I would have come up with, I would have been a quitter, so was good to see it through. And as you say, if I hadn't done it I wouldn't now be sporting a rather sexy arse and athletes legs (and lost 4 stone of beer gut and inertia that I'd built up).
I didn't originally plan to be back for the start of the season, but I'm in Swansea temporarily until I find some vocation somewhere/anywhere (sooner rather than later) and managed to get a ticket for the Man U game as a jackarmy member online.
My next effort will be to cycle around the welsh coast - a much more sane and manageable exercise. Need to get some money coming in first through - possibly do it next summer.
As for my usernames, I was quite fond of FOAJP, but it's just a username. Both that, and my current username just came from albums from favourite bands of mine - Clutch had an album pure rock fury out at the time and I think it's a great name for an album, or anything else for that matter, so I nicked it. If anyone reading this has triplets, you know what to call them....
FOAJP is just a pun on the Public Enemy album fear of a black planet - when I signed up to PS I thought I'd include a 'jack' in the name and it just came easily as a pun as I love that album. I've had lots of shite usernames as well..! [Post edited 18 Aug 2013 21:01]
