Its because Ings hasnt signed a contract thats been been talked about since last October. This laughable clause is just a joke and shows the lack of intent by ings and agent.

WALOB. I've never understood fans who used to blame the papers for our players leaving. They were just reporting what was going to happen. It's the same with social media.

Ings will be sold in the Summer. That's pretty certain. The club are in debt and realise he's nearing 30 and their only asset likely to generate big money needed to pay this massive debt.

The player himself wants one last chance of actually winning something and playing in the CL, both of which he will never do here.

So a sale is what both sides want. The only ones who don't are the fans, but they don't really matter do they?

This
I like Danny but if he wants to leave and his heart isn't in it as he wants CL football then lets get a tidy sum for him
The issue for me is strengthening on the back of that sale, we have repeatedly failed to do that properly so if the same happens again its just another two steps backwards
btw where is Salisu??

You dont seem to have read the story , you call this a load of ******s then proceed to give your own opinion based on nothing but rumour.

1. Ings will be sold in the summer that is pretty certain - Far from it, there are many reasons why he "might" not be sold, age, a club not being able to find transfer fee or his wages, a lack of potential clubs who want him due to that,

2. Transfer fee, if they are only going to get £15 million say, Saints may feel that they might as well run his contract down, that amount won't put much of a dent in any debt and his goals could be the difference between 5-7 league positions that would cover most of any transfer fee lost.

3. Yes the player himself wants a chance of winning things, but he has to go to a club that can offer him that so far only Spurs have shown any interest from that level of clubs

4. You say Saints have this massive debt, yet it is only a tenth of the debt Spurs currently have and it is said that have capital & Interest repayments of £210 million a year, If Spurs want Ings they have to shift Kane or Son and that will be a backward step.

5. So is a sale what both sides want ? the answer is yes if the move is to Manchester City say and the fee is £30 million plus, but as I said no one bar City are in a position to pay that and in the current climate transfer fees and wages are dropping not going up, so what both sides want is not necessarily what they will get.

Saints will look at this pragmatically although as you say the fans won't.

Saints will look at how many goals Ings is worth a season, lets say 15, if we replace him with a striker who only gets 10 how many league positions will that impact.

Manchester City and the big clubs will all do the same , do they need him and is he value for money and that is where age comes in, you are not signing a player who has a long shelf life and any resale value.

Spurs will do what they always do, stir things up and then try and get the player for peanuts as they did with Hojbjerg

We will do what we always do, look at all aspects, we would have liked more for Hojbjerg, but we didn't need him so we sold him and reinvested the money
