Or you could say they only televised the Liverpool's, Utd's and Arsenal's etc even back then

The good thing was, we generally did pretty well against thise top teams.

But I think those against Liverpool were the most memorable

True. The greatest Saints goal I ever saw was unfortunately in a match that wasn't televised. So few of our games were in the 60s & 70s.

This was one of our best performances v Liverpool, the flick over Burrows head by MLT for third goal always makes me smile, we were superb that day, and this followed a great 4-1 win at QPR the week before where Jason Dodd made his debut

I won a £50 bet with my (then) Pompey-supporting prick of a boss on that game. We were in excellent form coming into that game & I just knew we would win. I was in the West Stand. I had great joy taking the tossers cash when I went into the office the following Tuesday.
