I hope this comes off. He is just what we need. As Nick says, his experiences as a top defender playing in big games over the years, will really help the young players we have, on and off the pitch.

The language Ralph was using suggests yet another youngster. He wants someone as back up that can also play defensive midfield.

Poll: Has the Ross Stewart deal already paid off as Nick says?

We can afford to pay a bit more these days after the departure of several overpaid players in the summer, the problme has never been about how much we pay, our problem is a few years ago we paid over the top wages and then had these players stuck on the books

Gone to Bournemouth and it turns out we didn’t bid for him despite some media reports to the contrary.

No

But at least in Bournemouth he won't be too far away.

Supposedly left Palace as the wages they offered for another year weren't enough. He now ends up in the Championship.... have the Cherries met his demands or were they in the end the best offer he had left.. Really there was no chance we were going to sign him, he only played 20 games last year as well so experience or not, in that position we can't afford to take a risk on someone not fully fit. Worrall still my preference.
