Great support from the Saints fans up at United, loud and right behind the team.

The away section at United is awful, small concourses, small toilets and it takes ages to get out of the one exit per block.

The beer was cheap, although I didn't buy one.

Public transport back into Manchester after the game was non existence

The smallest pub in Europe is in Manchester

I know what you mean, the concourses were small and when we sat down at half time, we were squashed in like sardines. They must have packed in as many seats as they could with little regard for fans leg room and space! There was no chance of getting food or a drink in the concourses unless you missed some of the game. Old Trafford was quiet and it's not as impressive as people might expect really. Saints fans, yeah were loud and proud and it was great to see our full allocation sold out. Went by coach and was stuck outside Old Trafford In traffic for an hour. But always a good day out when we get a good result. Next away game for me will be Leeds I think. Probably won't bother with Burnley as it's on tv, such a long way and it's Burnley!

I didn't go due to having to work but my boys went. At the end, they walked down to the cricket ground and got a tram from there and the youngest got the 15:27 train back to Winch. The eldest stayed up there for a few hours with a mate and then his train was cancelled so he had to go a different route, which he drunkenly told me about 4 times

Manchester has some fantastic pubs, but it seems loads of ours went to Wetherspoons

Found Public transport back into Manchester easy, walked 15mins to Trafford Bar Tram stop / station, which gets more trams than Old Trafford as line from Airport comes in here too, back in pub in Portland St after picking up bag from hotel at 3Pm

This pub was virtually next one down from the smallest bar in europe, but not a lot bigger., and before game a round for 6 came in at £18

We were on the 06.17 train from Central, so got into Piccadilly about 10.30. Got tram to Deansgate and had an hour or so in pub there before tram onto Old Trafford. Not done this route before (usually go via Exchange Quay) and was surprised how easy and quick it was as left pub at 11.45 and still ended up in ground a good 20 mins before kick off (sacrilege I know!).

Wanted to make the 15.27 train back too, so was on the way up the stairs bang on full time and a brisk walk/jog back to cricket ground saw us get on a tram immediately. Was back in the town centre with a good half hour to spare, plenty of time to load up with supplies for journey home.

The thing that surprised me more than anything was the amount of United fans on the train up. Bearing in mind this was a direct train from Southampton, by the time we'd left Coventry, our carriage was packed with them and they must of outnumbered Saints fans 10-1. There were Irish ones, American ones, Chinese ones, Spanish ones,.....all kitted out in replica shirts and scarfs, as well as groups of young lads, all with Southern accents. They are without doubt the ultimate tourist club and I'd hate to put up with that every home game.

I got 17.27 train back, was packed, only after Oxford did it start to get quieter, but Loads of United fans on train until we reached Reading after which it was only Saints fans left

No Wifi and shockingly no screens to advise you if VAR checks are being carried out!!

Presumably not needed as it is obvious which the decision is gong to go

Nick I think a fair few went into Wetherspoons not by choice but out of necessity, as many pubs didnt open till 11 or even 12.00.

A quick post match stroll over to Salford Quays for beers .... no queueing at Tram Stops for us!!
