Hedging Our bets On A Striker 22:37 - Jan 30 with 981 viewsSaintNick

Southampton have made an improved offer for Racing Genk hitman Paul Onuachu as they look to land the goal-getter.

Has a connection to Rasmus Ankersen, having been at Midjytland, a genuine centre forward and at 28 has experience and a lot of goals in the Belgium league

This is all going to come to a head while we are playing a semi-final tomorrow night.

Far from ideal.

But we need Jesus Jones to be able to wow any potential new signings with his PowerPoint wizardry.

No use if he’s on the touchline tomorrow night waving his arms around dementedly as per usual.

If I aim for a "We tried really hard to get striker X, Y and Z - but..." - ala Gakpo & Ramos back in the Summer - then I won't be disappointed late tomorrow night when the window shuts.

I think that’s what will happen with the Braga and Genk strikers.

We are getting gazumped by Brighton and Everton for these two players. It reflects our League position and the very poor managerial appointment, which was never going to attract high calibre signings.

Sat in Itchen Block 5 on Saturday, I watched as Theo came on as a 2nd half substitute & I thought to myself I'm gonna count how many times Theo actually touches the ball - up until full time.

I counted 4 times.
