Maitland-Niles' nightmare in Nottingham 20:09 - May 10 with 1051 viewsresearchersaint

In the below article I had a look at the tactic devised to limit Forest's counters,  Maitland-Niles stepping into midfield , and where it all went wrong on Monday night. Have a read and let me know what you think!

Erm, how is this plan supposed to have prevented Forest's counter attacks?? With KWP getting forward and AMN taking a midfield position, we are wide open to counter attacks in to the full back positions which then drag the CBs across. That's exactly what happened. Look at the first goal. The ball goes over AMN's head to Johnson in a wide position. We were all over the place and easily pulled apart.

Maitland-Niles always looks slow and disinterested as if he’s going through the motions

It’s no coincidence that he’s been loaned out 4 times and no-one has taken up the option to buy.

It’s a mystery that AMN has been selected over Perraud so often as he offers nothing and our best full back KWP has to play out of position to accommodate him
