Should Martin compromise on his tactics? 14:20 - Sep 19 with 1880 viewsresearchersaint

Hi, I've written about Martin's philosophy and used examples from the Leicester game to ask if the juice is worth the squeeze when it comes to his tactics? With the squad we have, would we be better off playing a more simplistic way? Would love to know what you think!

I am expecting a 2-7-1 formation tonight.

Poll: Would you take going down to League 1 if it meant new owners coming in?

Whatever is needed to secure 3 points.

Good article. It's good to read a piece by someone who has a clue after the dross we read on here about how RM can't be telling the players to play that way and the players decide for themselves what their positioning is at corners etc.

Yes, RM should compromise on his tactics and we should play in a simpler way. I would be surprised if we don't see some compromises tonight, particularly to stop us being so easy to attack on transitions.

A very good read
I wonder if you should print that off and drop it into the dressing room at 1800 today?

To me its not necessarily a total compromise but an ability to adapt nd have a Plan B but it seems we have another manager who either has no plan B OR is too egocentric to accept he is wrong

Good article and good points. As you say little changed after the Sunderland game which smacks of pure arrogance, if it doesn't change tonight things could get toxic.

Ones that any decent opposition manager will easily tell his team before playing us. We are sooo predictable...

Correct, football is a simple game being made difficult by over coaching.
As one GREAT Manager Brian Clough used to say in his team talk .
"When we haven't got the ball go & get it, when we've got it, keep it".
We don't do either of those things.
