Bas Dost was my shout to replace Pelle, sadly I think that ship has sailed now; back in late October the Eredivisie match between AZ Alkmaar and NEC Nijmegen was suspended just before full time after Dost collapsed as he was making a run towards goal. The medical staff rushed to attend to him and players on both teams created a human shield as he received treatment. Glad to see he recovered after hospital treatment but looking at his stats show he hasn’t played since due to heart problems. Great shame as he was a player the PL definitely missed out on. Every bit as good as Pelle, if not better - why we signed that cart horse Carrillo in 2018 and left Dost in Portugal where he scored 76 goals in 84 games (2016/19) for Sporting CP I will never know. |  |
