Any idea why so may taxis around the city of Southampton have Portsmouth licence plates. There seem to be a lot of them.

I got a taxi to the Station a month or to back and the cab had a Bournemouth plate.
The driver said that Radio taxis had taken over a Taxi Company in Bournemouth and he was up here getting used to the company's booking system.
He also said that Southampton was a lot busier for Taxi drivers due to the cruise business and also two Universities.
Wonder if Radio Taxis have expanded into Pompey?
