Away Support
at 14:21 26 Sep 2023

Apparently we have taken an average of 1,810 fans to away fixtures this season which puts us 14th in the table of best away support.
I suppose that's not bad considering four of the away game have been long distances and three have been shown on TV at unsocial hours.
Problem is I cant see us doing too much better than that after recent dire performances.

Todays game

In no particular order.

1. Ref was a 4/10 in my opinion. Far to keen to book Saints players whilst QPR were getting away with similar offences scott free..
2. Bazunu made one stunning save 1st Half and did very well overall>
If he had let our first goal in he would have been subject to all sorts of criticism.
3. Thought Bednerak did OK against a big lump of a CF.
4. We must try to keep KWP, he is such a good right back.
5. Manning was OK going forward but not great defensively as Swansea fans predicted.
6. Flynn Downes will be a good asset to the club as will Ryan Fraser.
7. Adam Armstrong deservedly got MOM.
Not only did he score a cracker but his defensive work was top drawer.
8. Shea Charles did OK at CB but prefer him in midfield.
9. WE DESPERATELY NEED A TARGET MAN WHO HAS A PRESENCE IN THE PENALTY AREA, HOPEFULLY WITH AERIAL ABILITY.

Bit concerned about one of our fans and a regular poster on here in recent times.

I wonder if he agrees with the posts on various well regarded sources of information such as Tuk Tok, Gettr etc that our poor run of form since the 4-0 defeat at Villa Park has been due to the previous week's mass vaccination of all our first team, Manager & Staff?

Presume they are no longer available.

I remember seeing quite a few of them scattered around London Underground and many in Milan when we went over there for the European game plus others at odd places around the country.

Always made me smile when I saw them

The Dell v St Marys
at 12:11 19 Feb 2022

Just thinking today that if today's game was played at The Dell then it may well have been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
If not, and before cover was put over the Milton and Archers Rd ends, I would now be walking up to catch a bus into town, walk in the rain from the bus station, queue up for 3/4hr to bag a spot at the front of the Chocolate Box and huddle in the pouring rain. for 90 mins
Reverse the travel arrangements for the return trip home and arrive home to a largely unheated house, soaking wet but thinking it was all worth while if we won.
Compare this to my expected experience today ie drive to within relatively close proximity to the stadium, no queuing, dry seat etc etc
The only downside will be the feeling of disappointed if we dont get a win.

Itchen Stand disruption yesterday
at 19:42 6 Feb 2022

When Coventry scored their goal in the first half there was a group of around 20 Coventry fans giving it large in the centre section of the Itchen.
It got so bad that an elderly lady and her husband appeared to leave their seats and I'm not sure if they ever returned.
Unfortunately there was only one or two stewards in the area and they were unable to do anything apart from, apparently, escorting a Saints supporter away from the scene.
The situation was mentioned on Radio Solent as the view of the pitch was obscured as the Coventry fans were stood up gesticulating at those around them.
Begs the question how such a large group managed to get tickets in the home end.
If they were in the Corporates why do our club allow this to happen when it is against Stadium rules for us mere mortals?

Great result tonight especially as we were not full strength on paper.
Continuing absence of Salisu really needs some explanation
Cant find any details on Chaulk (one of our subs)

I put £50 on at 9-1 yesterday.
At least it will pay for my season ticket when I sit by myself in a half empty stadium (assuming lock down has ended) watching us struggle in the Championship!!

New Signings
at 14:27 17 Sep 2020

Any one think there is the possibility of delaying signings until the last moment hoping that prices will tumble due to the parlous state of some club's finances?
If so it is a risky strategy and one which could end up in a panic buy (or two) reminiscent of our transfer strategy in recent times.
