I wonder what will happen to the location of the buses that run to/from the area around the industrial estate to the IOW Terminal and Central Station?? Quite a few supporters walk over Itchen Bridge and they will be in direct conflict with away fans accessing their new location. The Chapel Arms and pubs around Ocean Village/Canute Rd will be 'interesting' locations if the new plans go forward. Myself and four of my season ticket pals will definitely be reviewing our plans to renew next season. btw, if we dont go up this season and lose quite a few of our better players, I think the expectation of a healthy season ticket renewal uptake may be rather optimistic, especially as some of us may have to pay more to contribute to lower prices in the revamped Northam end. |

I appreciate there are different views expressed on here re MLT but I went to a charity bash in town last night, organised by Nicky Banger and involving MLT, Mark Wright, Mark Dennis and Perry Groves. MLT came across as a decent fella as did the other ex players and helped raise a few thousand quid for the charities. Mark Wight and Denno both said that from all the clubs they played for Saints was the best which was encouraging to hear, especially from Mark Wright who went on to play for Liverpool. Some interesting 'behind the scenes' tales were told!!! |

Feel sorry for the fans assaulted in Rome. BHA took around 3k to the game whereas our turnout was around the 7k mark. Well done us!! |

Cant take away the fact that is a decent gesture. However most of the players are probably 50% tax payers so charitable donations are tax free so £10k in real terms. Also note that the club's owners donated £160k to the Saints Foundation as match funding to the same amount raised at last week's Saints Foundation Dinner at St Marys. |

Going back even further, the game at Leyton Orient in 1966 was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. A few of us went up by coach (Possibly operated by Shamrock & Rambler or one of the other coach companies offering away game trips) The driver managed to find out other game options in London and we ended up on the terraces of Griffin Park to watch Brentford play Hull. Good thing was our penultimate away game that season was at Brisbane Lane and were amongst hordes of Saints fans watching the 1-1 draw which effectively secured our first ever promotion to Div 1. |

Chapel End burns out. New double decker stand is built with insurance money |

Question is would it be preferrable to get promotion and receive a drubbing most games, unless the owners invest loads of money and the scouting improves significantly OR stay in the Championship and enjoy winning more games than we lose (unless we end up like Stoke or other ex Prem sides flirting with relegation?) |

I have to agree with posts re MLT. Not so sure that I am in any way supportive of some of his views but having met him on quite a few occasions, MLT comes over as a decent cove without any signs of the Big I Am about him. |

I have been to Anfield a few times watching Saints as I have family on Merseyside. As a callow youth I went to Anfield to see Liverpool play Juventus in a European game and found myself in The Kop. Managed to get in (late) at the top and with the swaying of the Kop crowd ended up half a dozen rows from the front. An 'interesting' experience. It was impossible to get out for a piss so people were rolling up newspapers and pissing into them with the contents splashing around on the terraces. |

The comment about RM wanting to play a possession based game if we go up to the Prem is a decent one. However apart from Luton and West Ham, it seems that the rest of the Prem teams attempt to play a version of this play book. The game against Liverpool will provide a reasonable comparison to assess how the current squad would compete against top teams. I recollect Burnley , who were top of the Championship, went to Man City in the FA Cup and were spanked 6-1. Since then Burnley have spent around £100m and are struggling. I think we are likely to face similar challenges |

I was at that game too. Lost 7-1 in the League Cup after a comfortable 4-0 home win in the first leg. |
