Should just be a one match ban for a professional foul.
Probably more chance of getting a 3-match ban reduced to 1 than getting a red card overturned completely. That would suggest the referee got it totally wrong - even with all the benefit of VAR - and they won't be keen to admit that. | |

Apparently Arsenal are going to appeal David Luiz red for what was a similar offence so they'd have to look at that decision before dealing with a club outside the "top 6"

Appeal has to be a must - but I'm not sure it will be overturned, as it would be like admitting fraud, as 2(!) refs looked at it in slow motion and still decided penalty and red, despite the obvious decision should have been to book Martial. Wasn't it Fulham who had their red card rescinded on appeal away to Newcastle ? From memory, it was their central defender and it then made him available for our game with them on Boxing Day.
It 100% has to be appealed.
The player himself even said it was not a foul FFS !!
How much more conclusive does it need to be ?
The officials should be relegated to League 1 for the rest of the season, but I can't help thinking at the appeal, the FA will look after their own. |  |
