Solak’s comment on that Echo interview that our relegation had been coming over the last 5 years is particularly intriguing me.

Speaking to the club back in the 1990 and early 00's they freely admitted in their meetings with fan groups that they had priced in relegation and that would be the case for most clubs except for a handful.
The clubs that really suffered when relegated where the ones that didn't price it into the budget and where stuffed financially when it happened.
Saints priced it in in 2005 and Lowe had kept back a transfer budget in 2006, but didn't get to spend it himself as he was deposed by Michael Wilde and his cohorts.

Sport Republic mentioned that they were surprised by the comments Nathan Jones made in the press, but sometimes they make a few mistakes themselves.
They try to be too honest at times when they are better to say less and let actions speak louder than words.
My comment was not a dig at anyone, just pointing out that pricing in relegation is quite common, but most clubs don't publicise it as it could be seen as a lack of ambition | |
