Pace is such an important part of the modern game.
We have players with pace.
But it is wasted, as we play the game at such a slow pace.
I just don’t see this manager changing his ways.
The experiment is going to have to end at some point.

Selles played slow, sideways football too. They seem to be obsessed with it at Saints under Sport Republic. We need to be more pragmatic, and catch teams on the counter attack with our pace. And also get some physical players in the side, so that it's worth having a corner or a free kick. Every corner we have just goes straight to the opposition as our team is so small. I just don’t get it.
We seem to be determined to be Man City Lite.
But City pass the ball at pace, properly ping it one-touch at frightening speed.
Martin will say it will take 2 or 3 years to change this, and we have to trust the process.
It’s utter b0llocks.
We are completely wasting our best chance of getting promoted.

Never broken quickly even back to redmonds early days of cutting back once he hit over the half way line

That Koeman team passed the ball at pace.
Schneiderlin was so good, could take the ball from the back 4 and pass it through the lines. Tadic wasn’t a quick player, but he could control a fast pass and then create a chance while the opposing defence were flustered.
It only takes 1 or 2 quick passes and then you can be through on goal.
The only players we have now that can do this are Stu Armstrong and Alcaraz.

Agreed it’s criminal that neither Armstrong or alcaraz start, one left out maybe but both our best players in the bench is insane
I would add Sulemana to that, sure his attitude stinks but any decent manager would have pulled him aside and said come on do your thing til january then off you go

Pat, we have shopped at Championship prices and sold at Premier League prices for too long.
It’s caught us up.
We should stay up this year.
