Well….

Apart from a penalty I thought we should have had in the second-half, I thought he refereed the game pretty well.

What do I know 🤷‍♀️

He did referee the game pretty well, but it is the fact that he pandered to the crowd because they shouted that the ball was not in the corner flag circle, if he listens to the crowd for something as trivial as that, there is clear evidence that he is being influenced

All referees are influenced by the crowd.

Always have been.

Why do you think the Liverpool player wasn’t sent off on Saturday?

Checking the first time was not so bad, the second time a bit silly. The quarter circle in the corner is not a semi circle, just saying. I wouldn’t say that the ref’s performance represented a significant decline in standards.

Thats a broad statement, it may be true at Old Trafford etc, but in most games the crowd doesn't influence the ref so much, the number of bad refereeing decisions I have seen made at Saints home games against us suggests that.

I didn't see the Liverpool game on Saturday, so can't comment, but I would say those on VAR are not getting influenced by the crowd, so that mistake should have been overuled.

Perhaps Saturday at Hull is small in the grand scheme of things but I have never seen a referee openly be influenced by the crowd shouting as this one was and that is what shocked me

I think this just sums up the situation refs are in these days now.
As let’s just say we use this incident as an example, and let’s just say the ref didn’t check the corners, where they weren’t in the correct position, and we’d scored from one which was what won us the game.
As with the crowd in the background making such a fuss of it, the media would highlight this and would’ve gone for him if he hadn’t of checked, whilst if he did check, he now just gets a lot of stick for it because it was the crowd that highlighted it, and he just checked to make sure that didn’t happen. So which one should he of picked?

And this would’ve all come from an incident that only like a decade or so ago, people would’ve mocked anyone who complained about it if we had scored, for how minimal and pathetic those sorta complaints used to be seen as

Well even I’ll say that todays ref hasn’t been the best either
As he’s been quite inconsistent both ways today
