Seeing as there seem to be a lot on here who go to gigs, The Shack thread was the reason I finally joined after years of reading this site

Mine were-

Mogwai at Glasgow Barrowland, wanted to go to this venue for years, excellent night out and my ears were still ringing the next morning after the full on sonic assault

Beck at The Albert Hall, he played with a full orchestra and loads of lesser known songs from the
Sea Change and Morning Phase lps

Baxter Dury at Hammersmith Apollo, fantastic night out, played most of his new lp Allbarone which is probably my favorite I've bought this year

Also saw Jane Weaver, LCD Soundsystem and a special mention for The Bug Club, I'd never heard of them but a mate had a spare ticket, great fun and any band that has a song called Lonsdale Slip ons is worth a listen imo

What were yours?

A tough one to call as there were some belters, but i will go with

1 - The Pogues - Brixton Academy

2 - Heartworms - Joiners

3 - Mogwai - Brixton Academy

4 - Brian Jonestown Massacre - Guildhall

5 - Gurriers - Joiners

Other contenders include 'We Hate You Please Die' (intimate gig at Heartbreakers), Jah Wobble at the Joiners and High Vis again at the Joiners.

The main one for me next year which i am buzzing about is Home Front at the Lexington in London. Thia act are top drawer and their new album is brilliant.

Ready and waiting to mop up those European places......

1. Oasis at Murrayfield
2. Reytons at Wembley Arena
3. Lady Gaga at the O2
4. Kylie at the O2
5. Charlatans at Camden Roundhouse

Bit of a range of stuff……

Honourable mentions for Pulp and Wolf Alice, both at the O2, and Katy Perry at Birmingham, who was actually really good.

Biggest surprise was Lady Gaga. I went along to keep my wife company, but thought it was a phenomenal show.

Biggest disappointment was Wet Leg at Portsmouth Guildhall. Thought they were poor, and I had really looked forward to seeing them.

Poll: Would you take going down to League 1 if it meant new owners coming in?

I fancy going to the O2 next June to see the Rezillos and the B52's at the same gig (along with Devo and Lena Lovich).

Saw Lena Lovich at The Hot Club on 22nd & Lombard Street, Philadelphia waaaay back in 1980 when my ship was alongside there. Very happy memories... so many years ago now.

Being old sucks.

22nd & Lomard a long way in land from the river, did someone forget to put the brakes on when they came alongside the Hot Club
