Walcott did one thing finally he got an assist because up to that point he was awful. But credit to him he kept his cool and made amends for the previous play.Really impressed with Armstrong his work rate is unbelievable and worth every penny we paid for him.We don’t make things easy for us but we showed the fight that has been missing in some previous games and got the result we needed, well done Saints.

Saints showed great fighting spirit to come back from 0.2 down,we were very hesitant at the start, and suddenly found themselves behind, the quick reply was the key to get back into the game. Once we up the tempo we were the better side, and could easily been in front before the break. Second half we managed the game and deservedly went in front, and in truth could easily have won more comfortably . Apart from some poor marking earlier in the game, it’s was generally a good team performance . Special mention for Armstrong, ings redmond, and Forster who all had good games, not forgetting vestigaard who was a tower in defence, four more points will make us safe, although probably 36 points might already be enough. Let’s go to WBA keep the momentum going , get a result then on to Wembley, where we can be a handful for Leicester, we are a better side than our position suggest, and Leicester would be foolish to underestimate us ,we can definitely beat them on our day, and yes this could be our year.

The result ended up supporting Ralphs team selection. 3 very big points, and we deserved them. Ralph showed that he has indeed learned something about game management.

Forster was not very busy in goal, but he did what he had to do and he did it well and with confidence. Our new first choice keeper, for sure, and deservedly so. Who would have ever thought that? Football is a funny little game.

Great turn around after an awful first 20 mins.
KWP was perhaps pulled back before giving away the pen, but, like Vest, was nowhere near Vydra for the 2nd. Why FF decided to try to save it with his feet was also questionable.
A greatly worked goal for Arms got us back into it and Ings was sublime with the equaliser.

2nd half it was mostly Saints and we should have been more clinical and added to a fine Redmond volley, which turned out to be a worthy and deserved winner.

We still sat too deep and gifted a few chances, but that is expected of Saints when they are in front. It is just a shame that our decision making let us down again - we need to either run it into the corners and run the clock down, or (Adams, Walcott et al) need to kill the game off.

Hopefully this has given us renewed confidence. At least Redmond seems to be back to running at defenders and taking people on. Our next 2 games are crucial for our season, so we need a full confident squad.
