I have watched Dale since 1948. Rain, Hail, Snow and anything else the weather gods sent, found me at Spotland no matter what. This season has lost my interest. Now living in Australia I intended to purchase a pass to stream the National League games. Then I toyed with the idea of a firestick, in fact I bought one. Now I can't be arsed to sit up in the middle of the night watching or listening to this horrible style of football. To me,to you, sideways, backwards, repeat. Tippy tappy with no end result. For now it will be a good night's sleep instead. Up The Dale. I wish you well. |

I have been a Dale supporter for 73 years, I say this not because I think that makes me special but to show how much I love this club and how much it means to me. As a child I had to take the jibes and skits of the others for being a Dale supporter.
I am sad now when I think of what's happening to this Club. I know we have never hit the big time but we have never as supporters to my knowledge been as uninformed as we are now.
Just who runs this club? Is it the chairman, the board in general, or the CEO. If it's the CEO then he can get in the taxi with BBM.
We seem to be treated like mushrooms at the moment (kept in the dark and fed bullshit), at least we used to get videos from Chris Dunphy when anything serious was happening. Wish he was back, at least he was Dale through and through. I probably haven't many more seasons to watch but however many I hope they are better than than the rubbish being served up now. I won't stop watching, it's in my blood, ever hopeful for better times. UTD. [Post edited 8 Mar 2021 3:12]

Unfortunately I have had to cancel my season pass because of the price hike. It has gone from $180 to $257. As a pensioner I decided watching matches at 1 30 am for most of the season plus the added cost was just too much. Why don't they have an installment option. I love the Dale and have for over 70 years, I will miss it. |

Just a thought could our recent urgency to keep clean sheets be affecting our goal scoring?
Is it lack of passing through the midfield and on to the forwards the cause of no threat up front. What I mean is poor supply, are the defenders just content to use the long ball to clear the lines.
I will say the much maligned Mcnulty has been outstanding in defence so far. |

There is a phrase used quite often on this forum and also on the official site by our gaffer "early doors" can anyone explain this to me as it doesn't make sense. Early days is what I think is meant but when did it get corrupted, I have never heard it used anywhere except here and the Dale site.Is it in common usage in the UK or is it a Rochdale only thing. |

Wonder what the best manager Rochdale Football Club ever had (his words) will do now? I don't think we will see anyone coming in or going out this window. We didn't strengthen our squad close season and now we seem to be playing in League 1 with a league 2 squad.
We have a group of forwards who can't score goals and we have a group of defenders who can't stop goals!
This season for me has been depressingly boring so far, but it might just get more interesting soon if we have a relegation battle on our hands.
There is obviously no money in the pot for improvements with gates falling, and they might just get worse. You can't expect people to part with good money to watch some of the rubbish offered this season. Obviously there have been good days like the walsall game but far too many mediocre ones. One can but wait and see. |

A lot has been said about Done's leaving and the playoffs. I am not convinced that is a legitimate reason to hold back a player with a chance to better himself.
Let's say we secure a playoff berth ....... Wonderful

Then what?
With attendances at Rochdale we certainly couldn't pay our way in the Championship. The fans would then have another whinge. I have supported Dale since 1948 and it has always been a struggle for the club. The supporters reading this don't deserve what happens at the club sometimes, but the lack of support in the town and the apathy of of the townspeople combined with the TV supporters of the bigger clubs who would rather sit in the pub with a pint means we aren't in a position to challenge the other clubs in wages nor to be truthful in promotions.
We are what we are, enjoy a brilliant season but don't get delusions of grandeur. |
