I will probably be in a minority here, but I loved the old Coventry brown kit with the white trim down the shirt and shorts. Probably as this kit used to be my primary school football strip, although we played with gold socks.

For those put off by the ballache of getting back to Stratford after the game, there is a easier way.
Come out the ground, go down the steps to the right of their club shop and then exit out onto the road and chuck a left and then a right under a tunnel and Pudding Mill Lane DLR station is a 5 minute walk from the ground. You can get DLR to Stratford one stop or take alternative routes and change at Poplar to get a train into Bank.
I left with my mate after the cup game and I got a DLR back to Woolwich and got a bus back to Welling and was walking down my road just as my mate was getting into Stratford over an hour after leaving the ground. |

My first game I attended was at the Old Den. Millwall v Wolves Went with my grandad and cousin. He was a docker, lived in Bermondsey, Millwall die hard. Perched on my grandads shoulders on the half-way line, towards the back near the tea hut. Smell of bovril, fags and piss flowing out the the toilets is the main memory along with flat caps and the unbelievable noise from the crowd and the industrial language not meant for a four year old to hear. Not much has changed down there since!! |

Mart & Ted I am sorry to hear about what you are both going through at present and wish you all the best.
Lost my dad in July and trying to deal with that has been challenging, just does not feel real at the moment.
Having a good family around you helps 'herd mentality' looking out for each others has been great and it sounds like you have that support around you.
Take each day as it comes, try and look for the positives where you can and never give up hope. The human body and spirit are marvellous things.
My aunt has had two strokes in the last couple of years, she is still here. Her life has changed, but she can still enjoy it.
My mother-in-law had breast cancer, had double mastectomy over 30 years ago and is still going strong.
The NHS is wonderful and I hope they can assist you in your time in need.

Is this because Hibernian used to be called Hibernian Celtic before Celtic were even formed and they dropped it after they were formed, or is there something else that caused the dislike between the two strong catholic fanbases? |

There used to be a group of De Graafschap fans (based in Doetinchem, not far from Arnham) who attended a few QPR games. They also play in blue and white hoops |

Sorry to hear your experiences Toast.
I had many galls stones episodes before the big event when I generally thought I was having a heart attack. The pain was unbelievable. I got my wife to drive me into hospital in the middle of the night, despite her being 7 months pregnant with triplets.
Thankfully put on morphine, had a MRI scan in the morning and had my gallbladder and gall stones removed in the afternoon. Was supposed to be key hole surgery but ended up being opened up fully to get them out. Nice large scar across my stomach. That was 27 years ago and since then I have not had any acid reflux issues.
Ted. Sorry to hear you have prostate issues and have a catheter. I sympathise with you as I just came out hospital after a bladder neck incision operation to improve urine flow and had a catheter inserted whilst they flushed my bladder with saline solution for 18 hours. Utter torture!! Would not wish that on anyone. |

Happy birthday to you both. Four more years for me to I hit that big landmark.
As for the opening post comment about secondary level silverware. I would still take that, the 75/76 and Venables teams, and even the few years we were in the now division 1, which I still think were some of the best seasons supporting our team, over having to sell our souls and support those C*nts from SW6 [Post edited 30 Apr 13:37]

I hope he has learnt a lot from his 1st season in the league, reflects on what other teams do, and what works in this league and applies it next year. If he has not learned anything and sticks to the same, then say goodbye next year. However, what players go out the door and come into the club will dictate how next season goes. |
