You are assuming that everyone can afford a season ticket or that they want to take on additional debt.

I caught the train in on saturday and was the only one wearing a mask. At the footy there were no checks to see if you are double bagged. its rife in my kids school but they are not getting seriously ill.

So to be honest I think its time to live with it. The economy is screwed enough already so no more lock down and take your chances.

"how can we expect an owner to put his hand in his pocket if those supporting the club aren't willing to do so"

If the owner isnt willing to put his money in, maybe he shouldnt be buying a club.

Leeds Game Matchday Thread
at 10:13 17 Oct 2021

I was in the padded seats yesterday up by the press box. Barely heard the home support. I have to say the Leeds fan were in very good voice.
We definitely caught Leeds at a good time, as they were pretty terrible.
Salisu and Livramento really stood out carrying the ball out of defence. I wasn’t impressed with Broja. For a big lad he lost everything in the air and didn’t hold the ball up. That said he was at in the right place to tap in a great move.
Our forward line is so powderpuff. It doesn’t really look like we have a plan to break other teams down

I was calling you out on how he can take transfer fees out of the club. The way you talk about it, is like you have been playing football manager.

for example
"You are quick to call him out, so tell me why he hasn't flogged off a couple of players as he did in the summer for £50 million and then taken £130 million for the club as he has previously been offered ?"

As you well know, clubs 99% of the time, pay the transfer fee over the length of the players contract. So at best this summer we have taken in 12mill in fees after everyone gets their cut. Dont froget liverpool got about 5mill from the ings sell. Why would Gao take out 12mill and damage the product he is trying to sell as it would be drastically weakened. If he cant sell the club for 180mill now, well then selling 50mill of talent and not replacing it means the value of the club to a potential buyer would have significantly dropped. So this logic is nuts.

As for my glib comment, Gao to the best of my knowledge has never invested anything in the club. Buying the club dosent equate to investing.

Nick you are getting more and more desperate

The portsmouth situation is completely differnt. The owner was pumping money into them so they could afford the likes of Defoe and keep them afloat. Our owner isnt pumping any money into us, so if he walks away nothing changes. Of course he wont walk away as he wants his money back. Until he can find a mug that will pay 200mil for 80% he will be here and we will keep getting weaker.

Honestly you can only be coming up with this rubbish to keep this board alive.

PS still no answer on how Gao could take the transfer money out i see.

PPS when i go tomorrow and by a pint at the ground and possibly a program, i will probably be investing more in the club than Gao ever will

Nick - As other people have said how can Gao underpin the club when he is unable to to currently invest in the club?

Nick Im still waiting for you to explain how Gao can take money from transfer fees. I noticed you side stepped answering that after I explained why I don’t think he can load more debt on to the club to get his money back.

If he’s done a similar job to Marcus, why isn’t he revered by the fans

I would assume Kat has the power to veto this , or some kind of legal agreement in place that stops him trying this kind of leveraging. Why would she sell 80% of the company for 200mill then risk the new owner dumping the debt straight back on the club. Thus risking her 20% (50mill). But like you, im not privy to the finer details of the sell, so can only speculate.

With the clubs finance's in poor health and relegation a real risk, he may also struggle to find someone willing to lend him the money to be leveraged back onto the club.

Now maybe, you can explain how taking the summers transfer fees would be a good idea of Gaos, as you said i dont understand.

Why keep pushing out the same crap that hes a good owner? Hes clearly not and couldnt be less engaged if he tried. Under his stewardship the club debt has increased 3 fold.

As the club has no money, exactly what money is he going to take out of the club? Transfer fees ? Well Ings would of had a down payment say of 5mill or about the equivalent 2.5% of his stake. That would make no sense.

Why should i have the answers? Its you that keeps putting mis-information out there.

Here we go again Gao is a good owner.........

"So in essence Semmens has re iterated what I have been saying for a long time now, that although Gao has not turned out to be the owner that we all hoped for and indeed he wanted to be himself, he is a good owner in that he is doing us no harm."

His lack of investment will see us relegated sooner than later. When we are relegated we will end up in admin and drop down further ala Bolton, due to the significant debt we currently carry.

Well said Barry, not just me then that can see through the dirge.

It cracks me up that people believe we are looking for the right ethical investment or take over. Then sign deals with betting companies and dogdy bit coin partnerships.

Anyone that thinks Semmens and co have the power to veto a potential buyer as they are not ethical, is living in cloud cuckoo land. The first shyster that turns up offering Gao any where near the asking price, will buy us. Just like Gao did.
