I couldn’t agree more.
The rule doesn’t apply in rugby and you can miss half the game if you’re unlucky with a constant stream of people going backwards and forwards to bars and/or toilets.
The strange thing is that I can never really remember a drinking through the game culture existing at Spotland before the ban came into place?

It’s reported in some of this morning’s papers that the Prime Minister is to consider repealing laws which prevent fans from drinking alcohol whilst watching the game.
He says that that they’re “outdated”.
Personally I’m not so sure that it will improve things especially given the modern tendency to throw beer into the air when a goal is scored.
The clubs may well back the idea as another revenue stream.
The police, on the other hand, have asked for a meeting to “express their concerns”.

Swingeing cuts proposed to the BBC Sports budget including scrapping live commentaries from away games. Plenty of journalists could be made redundant.

Two things struck me last Saturday.
The first was the number of seemingly empty seats in the Main Stand block nearest to the Sandy.
And whilst the Sandy itself was fairly full a number of “regulars” who normally stand near me were missing. On holiday? Unable to attend due to early kickoff? Who knows?
The Sandy was certainly less full than, for example, the York game at the end of last season.

Not bothered about him any more if he obviously doesn’t want to play here.
Hope his career is better than others who upped and left like Peter Thomas and Florent Hoti.

Looking back I suppose Oldham could and should have scored.
There were two or three occasions in the early stages of the second half when the ball fizzed across the Dale six yard box and only needed a touch.
But it didn’t happen.
In some ways the game reminded me of a win over Huddersfield in September 2010 where we took an early lead and then had to defend an absolute onslaught before sneaking a couple of late goals to clinch it.
Can’t fault the lads for fighting spirit and determination.
There was a nice touch at the end when Waller ran onto the pitch to high five Ramming and give him a big hug.
Shame the Fans Forum isn’t this week!
As an aside has it been confirmed that Rodney is injured or completely out of favour.

Chalk and cheese from Gillingham. Can’t fault the effort or the commitment.
IW got the subs right as well especially Maguire for Wilson as the latter was flagging a bit too. Neat cameo from Tobi too who still has a part to play.
Three sheets from four games too; but for that late goal at Colchester would have been four from five.
Great second goal too and we controlled things after that. Francis such a calming influence.

Oldham playing 4-5-1 apparently. Hope we don’t get overrun in midfield. Adeeko/Gilmour versus Norwood could be a crucial battle but one of many.
