Southampton FC’s Tonda Eckert has been sanctioned by an independent Regulatory Commission for three breaches of FA Rule E3.1 in relation to misconduct between December 2025 and May 2026.
It was alleged that the head coach acted in an improper manner and/or brought the game into disrepute by directing and/or authorising the observation of training sessions of Oxford United FC, Ipswich Town FC, and Middlesbrough FC ahead of fixtures between these clubs and Southampton FC in December 2025, April 2026, and May 2026 respectively.
Tonda Eckert subsequently admitted the charges, and an independent Regulatory Commission imposed a six-week suspension from all football and football related activity, which is suspended until the end of the 2027/28 season, a £28,000 fine and a reprimand following a hearing. The suspended sanction will come into effect in the event he is found to have committed a breach of Rules or Regulations by requesting, authorising, taking, or using information from any observation of the training of another club, in whatever guise that observation may take.

Considering Ekert said in a press interview that Jander would be ready soon 5 weeks ago - I'd say it's not just the injury.
Ekert recently said Jander's back in training and just needs to get back to match fitness.
Remains to be seen whether Jander is ready after the international break. He should be.
If he's not on the bench that pretty much will confirm that he wants away. Which only goes to show up some of Saints lousy decisions this summer IMHO: failure to replace Stewart adequately, Dobbin, failure to bring in another midfielder (as well as JWP) and failure to bring in a decent right-back ( IMHO Roslev won't do it). |

Can't we sue them for exploiting a serious matter ( according to the EFL and FA at least) , are 'hurting our feelings' and promoting commercial interests on the back of this ? Are we supposed to just laugh it off?
Mickey Thomas passed off and laundered counterfeit money through Wrexham trainees and received 18 months in jail. Isn't that hilarious and shouldn't we make a video about it? |
