The Basics

For me this game was all about our dramtic improvement at the basics of footbll. An improvement I wouldn't have even thought possible until the Arsenal game. How many times did we get two players tight on a Swansea player on the wing, thus stifling their little triangles? We gave the ball away so much less around the half way line that I can't believe they never thought of doing it before. But the biggest improvement we have made over the last few games is playing Hill in the centre.

He just seems to think that blocking shots, making tackles, and being strong in the air is enough to be a Premiership footballer. What an arrogant man! I watched this on a stream so I can't talk about his positioning all game but I am pretty sure he was directly responsible for stopping two near sure fire goals. If you are in any doubt he was my man of the match despite some other excellent performances.

My absolute favourite thing about this game though, was the constant attitude of trying to score goals. We were ripping them a new one right up until the final whistle. We had a bit of a dodgy decision for the Mackie goal but after reading some of the comments from Swansea fans about Derry's sending off I find it hard to be too sympathetic. Honourable mentions go to all the players, the manager and especially the crowd who soundeed immense.

Best we could hope for

Hello Everyone. Long time lurker first time poster and all that.

Never being one to fly in the face of controversy I think the Man Utd result was the best outcome we could have hoped for. The injustice of it all will, hopefully, you can never tell with QPR, put the fire in the bellies of the players and supporters that only all odds being against you, but still knowing your fate is in your own hands can bring. Let's be honest about the whole thing, I think we would have probably lost by the same margin had we been at full strength the entire game and we wouldn't have had the added impetous this extra grievence gave us.

Even if the players don't all care about QPR as much as us supporters I sincerely hope they respect Derry as a colleague and will want to give 100% as a show to us that they feel the same way we do. Which brings me on to Derry himself. I really think that him being suspended might just force our hand to play a little more positively against Swansea. A Barton, Diakite central midfield sounds pretty formidible on paper, especially with Diakite "enforcing" himself slightly higher up. Much as he has surprised me in the last few games, I am not sure that Derry is up to a Sunday Wednesday schedule for 90 minutes each at his tempo.

As an aside I watched this match in the home end with a Man U supproting mate (Moss Side born and bred!), and the arrogance of the Man U fans was annoying. The concensus was that they didn't need the penalty to beat us and because they won 2-0 they would have won anyway. They are probably right but whenever I meet away fans I will respect their team if I feel they played well, but Man U fans seem to be in a mindset of if they didn't win comprehensively Man U played badly and the other teams performance is irrelavent. I hate Man U as a team a bit. I hate their fans with a passion.

Anyway enough of me my favourite cheese is Cheshire or the pseudo cheese Primula.

EDIT: Oh ffs. I have just read Clives match preview and it looks like I am not flying in the face of controversy at all. Oh well.
