It’s known as “bash the granny out of opposition centre backs” - we have nobody else up top to do that his.

Kone has more about him than just that though
Despite my criticism and views I really do hope he’s back and slamming in double figures

From what I saw he didn’t have both feet on the floor either.

The other thing that grinds my gears is this throw in count down.
Thought it’s supposed to be when the ball is in hands but refs seem to wait, decide they need to jump in, and THEN start counting

Think we’ll start to see a few performances like this away from home.

Come up against a squad well drilled, Manager taking the impetus at home, big physical battling pro’s with nousce
Second best all day but might’ve been different if Kemper had connected well first five.

Only players with any credit today are Ronnie and possibly Smyth for effort.

I think Kolli and Poku both deserve some stick for their goal IMHO

We’ve totally lost the midfield with Harvey Fail showing less battle than usual and Kamara looking somewhat leggy. Ronnie very deep due to Stansfields positioning

Some work for the Frenchman to do here but he’ll probably wait till the hour mark as per.

Brum do look well drilled and certainly more zip about them

I’ve been a critic since day one
That aside I hope he comes good but I’m not sure he fits the model now
See above people saying we shouldn’t “expect him to be chasing down full backs”; that IS the expectation now isn’t it??
Sure that work rate is what Kolli gets heaps for.

That’s what I have for this fella

It was love at first sight - the sight of him seeing the game picture three frames before the film rolls.
His first touch is always into just a yard of space and always where his opponent needs to rake through him to get the ball. He’s strong enough to make sure you can’t shove him out the way and his passing range is full.

Was described as the second coming of Ray Wilkins to me and I didn’t disagree
That is highest of high praise indeed.

He’s only missing one thing and that goals. If he had 6 to 8 a season in his locker then he’d be an £8mill player easily

Absolute kudos to whoever in the club identified him as a target and also got the deal over the line.

I posted about the table the other day - after game 12 it's time to re-assess.

Also said how top 6 or 8 around turn of the year might mean a different calibre of player could be attracted in the January window IF we go shopping. I was really thinking about Prem loans there but in general as well.

However a positive thought fill me with a deep warm glow..... players like Chair and Burrell to come back into the match day squad are like new signings on their own (providing fit and firing).
I'm yet to be sold on Cirkin and if we get another 10 appearances from Lamptey that'll be something but if those two kick on that would be superb.

I'm writing Obikwho? off - looks to be a disasterous signing and his squad place is the one we should look to be filling as he's been as much use as a paperbag in a monsoon.
My opinion on Kone hasn't changed and he's got a lot to do but he's proved to be a warrior if nothing else so I'd hope he's up for the fight and will contribute.

Next two games points tally will be interesting.
Target for me is 4.... that should have us nestled in nicely top 8
If it's 3 then happy enough and we'll have beaten a top 6 team
2 would be acceptable with a hope results below us go in our favour.

All too early in the season but I cannot get away from the 6 points we've already left on the pitch IMHO

As we move into double figures of games played you'd usually look at it and say it's taking shape.... still a bit mental in the Championship.

I was gutted that late goal went in as we dropped a place and also the next two games taking us past the quarter way mark are proper tough. The crazy thing is positive results in those for us (I'd take 4 points all day!) and we might actually find ourselves with a cushion of a game/3 points to 8th / 9th which would be amazing.

Still can't get away from the points left on the pitch against PNE, Bolton, Charlton and to an extent Boro.... even another 4 from that lot and we'd be second.
Got to be happy with where we are though and I really didn't expect it (which might shock some).

This is the Championship and it can kick you right in the knackers if you're not giving it the gun every game.
I really hope we can stay in the mix by the time January ticks into view as that might well attract a different level of player joining in the mid season window if we go shopping.

I remain in my default position of 13 more wins needed

I get where you’re coming from

If you didn’t watch the game and looked at the stats you’d think Derby were unlucky
We are down as making 83 clearances and Derby not too dissimilar on shots plus (naturally) more possession
Also - the BBC has Pierce Charles down as man of the match!!!!

The story really was down to 10 men for that last 20 minutes
Mad amount of injury time by the ref and I thought we were extremely sloppy in both periods of it.
We looked desperate to get in for an orange from 45th minute and I do wonder if fitness levels are a factor….. not just due to those playing but also lack of availability of others.

Huge positives to take with the form of players like Smyth, Kamara and Madsen plus to cohesion at the back with Adamson getting better each game.
