Great stuff and to echo two points: 1. I thought the ref was terrible - very obviously seduced by “ooooooh, a big old Premiership club”. His lack of authority over the West Ham players was a disgrace. 2. Replays. These are sadly missing from what used to be a magical competition. I know we’ve largely sacked it off for decades but I see so often the bigger clubs wrongly being given a chance to roll out big guns to finish lower clubs off rather than another plum tie occurring. Having said that, thank god we haven’t got a replay to contend with on our sand dune pitch - would’ve had to put out either the cast of Casualty or Grange Hill |

These were actually "Small Boat Dogs" ...... coming over here taking all our sniffing jobs and all that. B'stards. I spoke to a handler up Canary Wharf next to Tower 1 whilst I was waiting for my lunchtime pissup colleagues to arrive. "Drugs dog is he?" The copper guffawed loudly.... "No chance! He'd be going mental every 5 minutes up here if he was drug detection!!!! Bombs and firearms mate..." Sniffer dogs are amazing. As for the amount of Chang about these days I don't think much has changed more that people are more aware / brazen. |

I'd always say grab any chance you have to get higher up the table and trouble those play off's but.... also... to ensure we do have the traditional QPR Death Spiral. So more blood - more blood! Hamstring injuries were always looked at as the fault of the fitness levels and prep of the player back in the day. If you weren't fit or sufficiently warmed up / stretched then always likely to get a ping and that was on you. That's why I find them the most frustrating of the lot. Centre Mid concerns should be eased by the availability of Field / Hayden / Morgan and now.... God love him... Handsome Ronnie who I think can do a really good deep lying job in there. I would however love to see Chair back fit and in this position. I wasn't aware that Chair's injury is another hammy? FFS! Ronnie should give us some options in three positions being CB, RB and CM so fair play for getting that one done. I was shocked he wasn't in the squad v Wet Spam TBH. It is absolutely mental to be considering loaning in another pacey wide player - especially if they're four foot! We're well stocked and just have to ride it out I suppose. Poku I've banged on about. I was told when we signed him we'd taken a huge chance on him due to his particular injury and wouldn't you know it, hamstrings made from a piece of freshly chewed and stretched Wrigleys Spearmint Gum. It's up top that concerns me. Burrell is a HUGE miss and I hope and pray the club handle his one really, really carefully as a recurrance would be disasterous for Burrell and the club in terms of his career. It does look like Frey is off. Kone I'd hope can step up and I actually liked the look of him and Rayan v Spam. Be lovely if Kone could add to his fitness levels and Rayan likewise. Not sure on Bennie or if he can carry any offering up top across the rest of a Championship season but good luck to him and he's another I hope can grab a chance. That would give us three to choose from so it would be here I'd be looking to add another body but needs to be someone proper decent and if a loan then one with an option. Ruben does need an intense meeting internally to ask just WTF this legion of Performance and Fitness bods are doing and also why there's still not a production line coming from the DS. |

I’ve been at the front of the Kolli Fan Club for years and was well happy with his performance yesterday. Would have gone mental if he’d scored. His quality is there to be seen and I hope he stays fit and in the squad going forward. If he got double figures for goals that would be amazing What I also loved was the support given to Rayan from the stands. Endless choruses of he’s one of our own. That’ll help a decent young lad immensely so well done everyone |

Away games should be a day out - a meet up, a gathering of the tribe. This was more like an organised shopping trip in parts. I’m glad an arrangement was made to head to a restaurant/bar in Westfield pre-match as it was good to catch up and meet a few heads. Without that it would’ve been shite as there is literally nowhere else to do that - those mystical things known as pubs just aren’t a thing round Stratford. The climb up hundreds of steps to my seat was a challenge. Viewpoint wise it wasn’t too bad with no posts in the way but far too far away from the pitch. The only atmosphere to speak of was from the away end but even that got lost as the structure just doesn’t hold it in. Facilities were kin awful. Nowhere near enough khazis, bars pretty crap and no space or concourse flow. Trip home could’ve been a mare. Jubilee line out and then Liz Line issues due to a fire didn’t help. We avoided the queues by slipping into Sadlers Wells theatre bar for two pints of Guinness and a chat with some old school Hammers who detest their own ground with a passion. I’d probably not attend this place again and certainly never for a midweek game. Sad state of affairs |

I’ll have that razor secreted into the peak lining of my baker boy hat today. As for the garlic…. Other onions are available. Can’t see anything other than a defeat. And that’s shallot. Westfields derby here we go |

Says it all. Question for those surprised at the fee (and to stress this could be the overall sum including potential add ons or delayed payments subject to milestones):- Would you agree Ronnie was a BIG contributor to us staying up last year - a vital player in that respect? If so then £4.5mill to avoid relegation is a great payment balance. That was in a side that almost everyone universally agreed was a much worse one than this season in terms of ability and commitment. Therefore he could contribute even more in a superior squad. I remain convinced he’ll play at an extremely high level. Everything I saw for five months backs that up and I hope he develops here…. IF he signs. RE: the Saints lack of playing time. Maybe, just maybe, he became unsettled and disillusioned there after loving his time here. We know better than any other club that sometimes it just doesn’t click for a player. |

Poku - I know, I know.... I am a boring "told you so" vvanker but..... my wager that he won't make double figures for 90 minute appearances this season is safe. My feelings that he won't make 50 of those across his four year Contract look right as well. Another crock - avoid trading with Posh!!! The people that oversee transfers there are far, far, far more canny than the gimps we have overseeing ours. Burrell - that is a concern and a hamstring tear for a pace machine like him needs to be handled extremely carefully with spot on rehab. I'm sure we can all have faith in our army of fitness and performance managers. Fcuk it. JCS - can we pay him off? Lifetime membership to a spa facility with a great physio department should do it. Total waste of a wage. |

RIP to Mr Southern Comfort One of those fans that even if you didn’t know him (I didn’t really apart from the odd LSA coach in the past) then you still knew him as he was always there. Proper Rangers |

Please let it 'appen. By "for nuffink" I assume he means no wage but a huge bonus if he keeps 'em up and around £1Mill into Rosie's old account as severance once he leaves in May. The current Board there are aware of historical whiffs and are savvy (tight b'stards). I'd be amazed if they considered him for a nano second |

Mbenge and Ferrari in same sentence not something I ever thought I'd see!! I'm very much warming to him as a RB -- he really was a dive in liability in the middle of the park though. Back on thread though - consensus seems to be we only need "cover". I'd disagree. We need more reliability and quality in key areas. Goalkeeper - nuff said. CB - if the Saffer isn't deemed as one to step up then welcome to the party Ronnie Edwards (you gorgeous b'stard) - JCS simply ccannot be relied on and Cookie is sadly showing creaks and cracks and will be gone in May. Add now for the future is what I say. FULL BACKS - I'd say Mad Ben and Jimmy (with Morgan) covers RB adequately.... Ronnie also okay there IF we get him. The LB spot much more of a concern. RND is a real steady eddie but not robust enough in terms of reliability for 3 game weeks etc - probably on big wages as well. Esky I'm not impressed with and I don't feel he has the right attitude at all but that is based on very little. This is a position we need two players for, one to drop straight in and one to be a supporting cast member. It's odd as my understanding was Vale was signed with an eye on this position but appears not. CM - if Chair not the answer in there then we need another progressive player. I was hoping Alfie Tuck would have a spurt season and develop well somewhere as I liked what I saw of him; doesn't seem to be happening. I'm sort of writing off Harvey Vale as been unimpressed myself. This Castledine chap seems to tick boxes from what I've read and I didn't realise he's on loan at Hudds - depends on a deal to be done as with any player I suppose. Striker - this is the most interesting for me and all depends on offloading Frey and/or Celar. As I've said elsewhere I'd wish Frey all the best and Celar I'd want shot of soon as and look to erase the total waste of money from the memory banks soon as. If Burrell injury is short term then look to add just the one player here but ideally two if both the aformentioned go. Who? How? No idea... over to the Head of Performative Acts for that. It's the toughest position to fill and sadly yet again we don't seem to have a young prospect coming through unless Bennie can step up. All the above could/should be spread over two windows. Anyone we add on loan this season should be with something in place with an iption to buy and I stress option not obligation. The other real shame is that I cannot see us shifting anyone for a profit which is an abject failure of those in the seat overseeing these things at the moment. Edit - forgot the full back spots!!! This my view as well. They will go strong as they need a win to get things going. That aside, even with half a dozen rested they have some great players on the edges such as Potts who was very good on loan at Pompey last season, the fella with dreads who came on last night looks a player, they have a young N.I. international striker, etc, etc. I do think we'll get filled in but it's the nature of it that will be key for me. Lose with 100% effort and I'll not be too botherd - start waving the French alternative national flag with team selection and a going through the motions approach and R's fans will be rightly livid. IF they keep Nuno (which I think they will) and this game doesn't go well for them then I would expect plenty of empty seats and demonstrations from the not so 'appy 'ammers. They need seven wins and four draws minimum to stay up over the remaining 18 games to have a chance of staying up. That is a proper tough ask but still do'able but the key thing needed is confidence and momentum - where better to start than a lumpy cup win I suppose?! |
