I’d be offering contracts to the following: Keohane - really underrated player, and his versatility is so important. Doesn’t seem to be getting worse with age, either. EEL - I think he’s done well this year but I imagine he’s one of the highest earners. If we can come to a compromise I’d like him to stay. Sinclair - still an excellent option at this level. Rodney - tough one. Brilliant when fit, but can we have faith that his illness is behind him? If he proves his health I imagine he’ll have offers from league clubs, but I’d hope he’d show us the same loyalty we’ve shown him this season. I think Mellor’s out of contract in summer and, like ND said, I can imagine him ending up here. I’d definitely be willing to give him a chance on a 1-year deal. None of the other loan players I’d be looking to keep (Hayes excepted, of course). |

Does anybody have a list of the contract status of the whole squad? Chaff’s usually good for one! |

I think we’re the only fanbase in the country who could be on the verge of being bought by a genuine billionaire and our first reactions aren’t ‘let’s buy our way up the leagues,’ but rather ‘let’s be sustainable.’ Heartening to see. |

The referee’s report will say elbow, but in reality it was one of those schoolboy incidents where you’d be embarrassed if you were the lad on the floor. Henderson rushed to get the ball to prevent them getting to it. Woking player tussles with him. Henderson slides his arm up at the speed of a yawning sloth and their player goes down clutching his face. One of those where it’s the correct decision by the letter of the law, but the law is absolutely stupid. There were about ten non-red-card tackles that took place tonight that were far more likely to cause serious harm than what Henderson did. But he should still know better. |

Absolutely bonkers match. A classic English football game for our new American friends. Terrible football, lively away fans, two red cards, awful challenges, a late goal, a late disallowed goal, ballboys throwing a ball back on the pitch just as play’s about to resume and a buffoon running onto the pitch for absolutely no reason. Loved it! |

Absolutely. I must admit my support in Jim is wavering. I gave him a pass earlier in the season with our terrible injury list but lately we’ve been closer to full fitness and we’ve got a lot worse. We’ve played very well at times, and I don’t think the football is as boring as many say it is, but this squad is more than good enough to be challenging for the top 7. I don’t personally see the new investors getting rid of him though. I believe they were watching the fans’ forum last week. They would’ve seen how much adulation he received from those present, and Gauge was clear to point out that he’d be mentioning that to the new investors too. No new owners are going to jeopardise any nascent relationship with fans by getting rid of someone they believe the fanbase adores. |

Who’s this last commenter to Jim? He’s using the phrase ‘stealing a living’ a lot re players from last season. Think I’ve seen that a few times on here! |

Really bold of Jim to confirm there was a culture in the dressing room last season that he wasn’t comfortable with, and how much he’s done to change that. |

Bloody brilliant performance that! Every player to a man was outstanding. Those Wealdstone defenders will be having nightmares about Cian Hayes tonight! Until Hayes’ brace though I actually thought Mellor was our best player. A word for Harvey Gilmore, the unsung hero of this squad. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him put in a sub-7/10 performance. One of those players that’s just always there keeping things ticking along without doing anything flashy, though tonight he was everywhere. He seems to be an ever-present too. Does he have more appearances than anyone else this season? |

I’m a bit torn on your last paragraph, SD. Nevett’s proved a huge welcome surprise to me, but who else from the youth has McNulty played? Barring the odd bench appearance, the youth products haven’t featured at all this season. It’s especially strange when we spent a good amount of time with only Henderson fit in the first team, yet players like Bailey and Kelly were excelling for the youth team every week and weren’t considered. Oscar Kelly, for instance, plays for Ireland U17s. His colleagues in that squad are at Championship clubs. Yet he hasn’t been given a sniff of a chance with us all season. Even more strange when we consider that he played fairly regularly in pre-season. |

I think that’s the disappointing thing for me today. In the first half we showed we’re capable of getting a result, and we were unlucky not to be leading at HT. Uche and Hayes were driving forward at will. There was plenty of nice passing, but it was done with intent rather than arbitrarily. I actually thoroughly enjoyed that first half! How we came out in the second half looking like a different side I don’t get. |

We’ve actually had some impressive counterattacks this season. The trouble is, they all began with Moulden. |

He was actually strongly rumoured to have been close to joining the board a few years ago (around Bottomley’s time or shortly after, if I remember rightly). |

Apologies if I’m just being blind, but is there no match thread? Any comments about the game for those who went? Nice to see Hayes, Mitchell and Nevett back. Did anyone play well? |

The ‘borefest’ comments are tedious but also expected. I’m really pleased with how this season’s panned out, but some of the games have been dreadfully dull. I do though think this is just what football is these days. It isn’t a Dale thing, it’s a modern football thing. There won’t be any team in England who currently plays football as exciting as what we saw under Hill’s first spell. That simply isn’t how football is played these days. Flair and speed don’t seem to be valued traits anymore. I’ve bored my Twitter followers ad infinitum banging on about this, but I put it down to the Pep effect. One of the most successful managers ever plays football that’s heavy on possession and passing, but that’s also sterile and dull. The current trend is to emulate that, and you’ll see this style at grounds across England. It’s likely just a phase football is going through, and when the trends change, so will Rochdale. |

Unsure where exactly to post this, but Accrington’s owner has been transparent in letting fans know he’s had plenty of interest in the club but nothing concrete. I imagine that’s where we are, and just shows how difficult the process is, especially as they’re a league higher and a potentially more attractive project. |
