And it is not just the Manager but his backroom staff that possibly stand at around half a dozen who will be part of the compo payable. |

No doubt getting Rohl on the Project will cost the club a few million in compo to add to the £££millions to wave a fond farewell to Russell & Co. I reckon SR will opt for the cheapest option and save moneu to invest in a decent striker and midfield players in January to prepare for life in in the Championship next season and hopefully get us above 11 points this year. |

For keeping going in the second half when it would have been so easy to sit with your head in your hands looking through your fingers at the clock hoping Spurs werent going to score another 5 in the second half. |

Jelly I'm like you. Never have an injection at the Dentist even when having Root Cabal work or anaesthesia during operations. Our bodies are programmed to take pain and the medical profession generally takes the opportunity to conduct experiments on you when you are comatose or even worse add implants to provide a controlling mechanism for the ruling elite. |

I have been demoralised many times in my long standing support of The Saints. I guess at my advanced age, it si more difficult to summon up enthusiasm. My sense of demoralisation is about the same level as when Branfoot was the Manager and he had a completely different approach to the game than Russ Ball. |

I have reluctantly decided not to go for the reasons pointed out above but also because of the expected hammering by Liverpool in next Sundays League fixture and the £30+ ticket price. As a long standing supporter, I am disappointed in my view of this but also satisfied with ny decision |

Just a thought, with people like Richard D Hall, Alex Jones et al mentioning the involvement of 'Crisis Actors', wont they all have to be members of Equity? Surely some detail can be found in the union membership files? |

One and only time I went there was with a small band of Saints fans in 1966 when Dave Webb on his debut scored our goal in a 1-1 draw. Saints then went on an unbeaten run to record their first ever promotion to the top division. Also fondly remember beating Wolves 9-3 at The Dell after conceding an own goal in the first 5 minutes, were 6-2 up at HT, scoring the ninth with about 20 minutes left and then hitting the wood work two or three times otherwise it would have been double figures. We then went out and bought Wolves 'keeper, Dave MacLaren!!!!! |

Good post. I am a long standing season ticket holder but for the first time I find myself going to games with little or no expectation of a result. I fear a thrashing this Saturday v Liverpool and have decided not to waste £32.50 on buying a ticket for the Carabao Cup game. It hasnt taken long for the positivity of last season to become diluted. I think we are odds on to end up with less points than Luton did last year, a team that had far less financial clout than we have. |

Sad fact is, you are spot on. What most of the Saints fans hope for is to score enough points to beat Derby's lowest ever Prem total and try to avoid a double digit defeat in the forthcoming hammerings we expect to happen as Dressing Room morale, injuries and suspensions affect us. |

Apart from last season I wonder what our home record stats have been from the end of the Puel era when we went quite a few games at the end of the season without scoring. The team's recent home record in the Prem has been pretty dire in recent times and no wonder the crowd is less than enthusiastic. |

Any one have the stats regarding home results in the Prem going back to the Puel days. Its no wonder the atmosphere at SMS is subdued as, apart from last season, our home form in recent times has been dire, including an FA Cup defeat by 4th tier Grimsby. |

If I was the money man at SFC I would be looking to do a deal with the Council to get hold of the Itchen frontage land when Cemex and Co leave the aggregate wharves. It will happen some day and I have a sneaky feeling that discussions may be ongoing. |

To be fair RM seems to have encouraged a tight dressing room mentality. I guess that's great when you are winning but cracks will appear if the results continue to pan out as they are doing atm. |

Nick, You mention comparisons with Liverpool, Manchester & Leeds. As you rightly say Liverpool was a real dump post war as the bottom of the city had suffered massively from bombing during WW2. It was Michael Hesletine (part of the Thatcher Govt) who helped inspire redevelopment post the Toxteth riots helped by significant funding from the EU and UK regeneration budgets as well as an influx of Irish capital linked to local Scally redistribution of capital from the drug trade. Also the Whitaker family buying the Mersey Docks & Harbour Board has released 100's of acres of prime waterfront land for development land on both sides of the Mersey I was at Uni in Leeds and dont recognise the centre of the city now with all the influx of capital from the Insurance business and other service industries. I'm not so au fait with Manchester but the money from Man City owners has helped galvanise investment and Any Burnham has done his bit as the Metro Mayor. All three cities have more than twice the population of Southampton which has always suffered from being in the so called 'Rich South' and there unable to access money from the EU or Central Govt funding. |

Point of order. The 'Green Bus' Station at Marlands was used by Hants & Dorset (primarily rural services) and the occasional Wilts & Dorset to Salisbury. It was the 'Coach' station located at Bedford Place, primarily used by Royal Blue services and other longer distance passenger services. |
