Not sure how someone with Field's touch can play as a 10. It's batshit crazy |

Well, so he either chose to leave Smyth and Kolli on the bench yesterday (crap management) or he was told to. I'm inclined to believe the latter. It will be interesting to see what happens with them both in January. Kolli is the most bizarre. He's 'injured' then back on the bench but the manager prefers to play Sam Field at 10 in a game in which we create nothing? Completely normal, I'm sure. |

Yes, I'm where you are. I actually think the squad is capable of making the play-offs, particularly with a couple of acquisitions in the window. I get that teams can be inconsistent and you need to rotate to a degree but why on earth is Kolli sitting on the bench while Sam Field plays as a number ten? That's just shocking management, and as ever with Stephan, I'm not entirely convinced he makes the final call on who plays - see also Smyth and his contract situation. |

Absolute crap. Stephan still not learning with his tinkering and slow in-game management. West Brom were there for the taking and we got what we deserved. |

Vale having the worst ten minutes I have ever seen from a Rangers player...and I saw Gus Caesar! |
 | Forum Reply | How confident are you that we could go up? at 18:01 28 Dec 2025
Course we can go up. The play-off spots are wide open and you only need to look at Sunderland last season to see what's possible. I don't particularly like the Premier League but we've got to aspire to getting there. I was watching MOTD last night and Brentford and Fulham both won (Brentford now eighth), Villa - who we were playing a few seasons ago - are flying and then there's the likes of Brighton and Bournemouth - would they sell 9,000 tickets for a third round cup tie in a day? We just need more performances like the first half against Leicester and fewer like Norwich and Portsmouth. |

If I were West Ham, I would be looking to get out of that ground. No coincidence that their home form is so bad in a place like that with zero atmosphere. Upton Park was the antithesis. |
 | Forum Reply | Subbing a Goalkeeper - Why is it only done for Injuries ?? at 15:42 28 Dec 2025
Difficult to sub a goalie if he's not injured because it can only be an indication that he's had a mare and it can't be good for their confidence. Apart from subbing one at the end of a cup match because you have a penalty-saving specialist on the bench (like the Dutch did), it's like incest, the last taboo. |

Yes, I would like Poku to get a start soon. Thought Cook improved in the second half but hopefully Ronnie signs next week. It feels greedy but we still need another forward - God knows what the real story is regarding Kolli, while Frey looks worse every time he plays. |
 | Forum Reply | Pompey match thread at 16:56 26 Dec 2025
A much better half. Let's get Ronnie in and another striker because bringing Frey on is going down to ten men. |
