Not been his biggest fan but got to tip my hat to him. His work rate was never in doubt but the final ball/decision making has been poor.
He looks a lot more direct and its probably helping that JS wants his players to be quick and aggressive.
I love his defensive work, what a pain in the arse he is.
However, I really think everyone should look at the coach. JS is making average players good. That is the sign if a top top coach. |

Stupid question, but if you allow a owner to spend what they want where does responsibility lie for paying players wages should a owner go bankrupt?

Thought Kolli was pretty anonymous most of the game and looking across at JS he didn't seem overly pleased with some of Kollis pressing.
Lloyd was OK. Good to get a goal.
Need Burrell and Kone back firing. |

On the way home.
Biggest win at home for a while, but the flattest atmosphere all game. Weird. Probably due to Derby shithousing from the first minute and the broken play. Probably our least impressive performance of the season, but it says more about the dog shyte opposition than us.
Mbengue injury looked really bad and Smyth was hobbling down the tunnel when subbed. Down to the bare bones now. |

Vale has created the second most chances in the Championship before the international break. He does a lot of work off the ball blocking the passing lines etc that can't be seen on TV.
Also, he is not a winger, much better playing off Kone in the 10 or the 8, which he was doing at the beginning of the season. |

West Ham, the definition of a one man team. Stop Bowen, you stop them, and Kemper absolutely did that. We have a proper LB, can see Cirkin being moved into LW.
I thought the midfield was fantastic and Madsen was so impressive doing things mostly unnoticed.
Now beat Derby with their inevitable low block. |

FFS. Smyth had clearly taken a knock and was hobbling when taken off. I'm amazed with your inside medical knowledge of Smyths injury that he could have stayed on.
Kemper has not played for 2 months and with Cirkin suspended we need a LB.
Not like the old days when proper men played 50 games in a season blah blah blah. |

A top coach and that is clear by making average players better. He comes across as calm.and intelligent and is just the sort of manager we have needed for years.
The players clearly like him and have bought into his ideas, those that don't (yes you Kolli) are given short shrift. Love it.

It sounds like there is a lot of fast tracking of the entire Academy setup. Almost like they're looking for the 1 or 2 who they can push through quickly and the rest are there to make the team numbers up. |

Unfortunately, not. Burnham was the mayor of Manchester from 2017 until 2026.
A lot of the regeneration of Manchester, which he has taken political credit for, was bankrolled by the UAE.
You don't build 6k houses, etc, for the love of it. It whole thing stinks, and Burnham then makes that statement.

The next round of TV rights bidding for the PL might be interesting. Starts in 2028, so about 18 months.
The rate of monetary increase in the bidding had already slowed down due to saturation and now we have a competition that is tarnished with corruption and cheating. |

I saw this earlier and can't believe the bullshit the City bloke comes out. Conspiracy theories FFS. The eluding to some piece of evidence that will clear them of everything. Yeah, right.
In a weird way, this whole saga may be the best thing that has happened to English football. Just like Italian football in the 90s, the scandals just kept stacking up and the football became boring. Top players stopped moving to Serie A and the decline set in.
History most definitely rhymes. |
