Back Of The Chapel ! Looking To Ramp Up The Atmosphere At St Mary's
at 19:58:34

Perhaps these guys could make up some words to the tune of Tenpole Tudor's "Swords of a thousand men" (The boys from Southampton)

Southampton At Wolverhampton Wanderers The Preview FA Cup 5th Round
at 16:24:22

I really don't understand why everyone has to have a dig at Jack Stephens,in the last two games Bednarek has scored two own goals, got sent off, nearly got sent off against Newcastle and got turned inside out by the Newcastle winger for their first goal, what stand out cockups by Stephens were there.
Don't get me wrong, Bednarek is a great player but the last couple of weeks, he's had a mare.

Maybe I'm just old school, but in my mind, if they wear our shirt, I'll support them.

Hasenhuttl Reveals Vestergaard Injury Worse Than First Thought
at 09:17:43

I don't see why everyones having a meltdown at not seeing Salisu in action yet.
With the form of Vestergaard and Bednarek who would be dropped.
As for the game against Fulham, Stephens is more experienced than Salisu and too many changes had to be made already, no brainer really.

On This Day In History - The Ruddock Stomp Is Born !
at 18:40:34

I was at that game, just bringing back the memories of Ruddock getting ready to take the penalty made my stomach churn.
I remember Ruddock wiping out Stuart Pearce and the fans chanting "Ruddock kicked your head in, Ruddock kicked your head in".
Another memory was someone running onto the pitch and put a coat around Mark Wrights shoulders as he thought he looked a bit cold though lack of effort.

Oh the good old days.

Saints At West Ham United The Verdict
at 21:19:39

Prior to the game I read that West Ham/Antonio would target KWP down the flank, as JWP had Grealish and Saha in his pocket in previous games I'm not surprised Ralph kept him at right back.
Ings picked up a knock and hadn't trained all week until Friday, again no surprise he was on the bench.
Every goalkeeper has a howler, DeGea had one today, I bet next time McCarthy is in a similar situation he'll stick his fist through the ball and player if need be.

Like everyone else, I can see the defence needs sorting, Jack has improved massively over the past few months but Jan seems to be falling away.
I have a feeling that PEH may be on his way in the summer, I'm not sure if it would be a great loss or not.

West Ham targeted Long, Armstrong and Boufal in the game with not much done about it by the ref.
At the end of the day, we didn't play well enough all over the pitch to get anything from the game.

Time For Accountability At St Mary's
at 15:39:17

I have always hoped that Pelligrino would come good.
There have been some good football played at times, normally for only one half of the game.

Sadly, I think it's time for Les Reed to act, or maybe even Pelligrino himself to call it a day.

One thing is for sure, we cannot keep going from game to game hoping for our fortune to change, the games are running out.

Promes Deal Unlikely
at 12:52:46

Santos, I don't think Pelligrino has ruined Redmond.
He was up against it from day one, the minute Puel compared him to Henry, it just gave the boo boys something to aim at.

It wouldn't surprise me to see him go out on loan or be sold today, possibly to Leicester. After all, would you want to play for people that "boo" you onto the pitch.
It's a shame as the guy could actually be quite good with some support.

I'm hoping Pelligrino can turn it around but anything less than two wins this week, in style and I might just jump on the band wagon myself.

Will A Defeat At Watford Prove Fatal For Pellegrino
at 08:51:00

While I would prefer for Pellegrino to turn it around and go on a winning streak I can't really see it happening.
Now that the disruption of vD has gone there are no more excuses.

If we lose today and end up in the bottom 3, I would have thought it would be time to go.

I have generally defended to club, management and players, BUT, there are times when decisions have to be made.

Top Ten Or Bust For Saints Against Everton
at 08:53:04

It really **cks me off when I hear so many people slagging off our players.
If they're wearing the red and white of Saints, they should be supported and encouraged.

In my ideal world, Long will pop one in, assisted by Tadic, Redmond will score, assisted by Long and then Tadic gets one himself, assisted by Redmond.
Gabbiadini will get the 4th and Austin will round it off to make 5.

9th here we come, I can only hope and dream.

Van Dijk Story Takes Another Twist
at 09:45:45

I would like the FA to get involved with this mess.
Van Dijk was happy to sign a new deal and "honoured" to become captain of Southampton, UNTIL, Klopp got to him.
It seems VvD has taken advice from some so called Liverpool "legends" and possibly some ex Saints players.
If we decide to sell him to Liverpool, the tapping up process was a success.

I'd like the FA to tell Liverpool, if they try to sign him, the sh*t will hit the fan, but I doubt it will happen.

I'm not sure if the fans would accept him back in a Saints shirt, it just may have gone too far.

A Big Week For Southampton Football Club !
at 09:48:58

I don't think posting sulky pictures and in particular the one of himself in front of a Liverpool flag (which I haven't seen) on social media is really behaving well.
Nor are the cryptic sulky messages from him and his "close" friends.

Saints At Everton The Preview
at 12:14:19

It wouldn.t matter if we won 8-0 at Everton, Puel would still be a useless manager according to most.
Many seem to have taken a dislike to him from the get go, maybe it's his "interesting" interviews, or maybe because he's French.
Same as Nathan "Guly" Redmond, the stats show he's quite a decent player, but he gets lambasted every week.
Our team is up near the top of goal attempts and against Burnley, hold the record for the highest number of goal attempts in one game, so why are we boring to watch. Frustrating yes, boring no.

Saints Keen On Moving Sadio Mane On !

The Saints board are taking their time over the new manager, perhaps the delay is because they are waiting for Laurent Blanc to leave PSG.
I read that he will leave at the end of this week.

Latest Saints Manager Odds ! Who Is The Dark Horse at 33/1
at 08:25:48

I see it's gone very quiet in the press about Unai Emery taking over at PSG.
I wouldn't mind having a quality manager come in for two or three years with Kelvin Davies as his assistant.
Once he leaves, we could have Kelvin as manager with Fonte along side him.

Saints At West Ham United The Verdict
at 12:24:46

I think part of our problem is the goalkeeper.
Stelelenberg seems to have quite slow reactions. There's been several times this season when he's stood and watched the ball go past him with just a token arm wave.

I can't recall a decent save he's made this season, but I can with Gazzaniga.

It'll be interesting to see our goals against when Fraser starts playing again.

Bertrand Return Is Key To Successful Season
at 13:20:47

You keep harping on about the lack of pace down the right but a couple of weeks ago, Sky Sports showed who was the fastest Premier League players.

Who clocked the ninth fastest sprint, it just happens to be Cedric Soares. He was clocked at 34.74kph.
Clyne didn't even make the list.

Lets not forget, Cedric's on a Premier League learning curve as well.

Saints Putting Big Price Tag On Jay Rodriguez
at 11:52:36

I'm sure in a pre match press conference a couple of weeks ago, Ronald Koeman said Jay would not be sold.
I take what the media say with a pinch of salt, one minute Morgan is off to Arsenal and then not, Nat's agreed to join Man Utd, then not, Toby's off to Spurs, Man City, Liverpool and the rest, then he's going back to Athletico.
I'll just wait for real news on the official website.

I'm also sure that the likes of Man City will be buying English players just to meet the new FA rules and that players like Jay would just end up as a squad number with not much playing time, if bought.
