Dragan Is In Town

100% with you Southamptonfan.

You and I called it correctly with Still and now there is a strong suggestion that Sports Republic may go down the same route again. It’s almost as though they don’t care who the manager is as long as they can run their Player Trading and Fun Fair Business, which of course is their prerogative.

The poll asking who wants him as the next manager shows less than 25 % in favour but it probably counts for nothing as far as Sports Republic are concerned.

Bookies have Tonda at 4/7 and let’s face it they don’t usually get it wrong.

Tonda Eckert Hits The Top Spot In Bookies Favourites List
at 11:02 10 Nov 2025

Can anybody give an insight as to where all the speculation leaves Paul Trollop and Adam Lallana?

Any managerial appointment from outside the club will I imagine, bring his own team with him and I can’t see Sports Republic paying the salaries of a new manager and his team plus Trollop, Lallana and Eckert.

Unfortunately, I won’t be at all surprised if we simply end up with Eckert replacing Still.

Grumps. Given that in my opinion Sports Republic are a Player Trading and Fun Fair Business rather than a Football Club I doubt they are remotely concerned about any division they cause.

Would be difficult to play any worse Southamptonfan which is why I hope they don’t give the gig to the guy who is now in charge on an “ interim basis “. It would then be a question of rinse and repeat when the going gets tough once again.

We desperately need an older experienced manager who can show our current bunch of supposedly senior players his medals and tell them to shut up and get on with it.

Would it be better long term to lose the next two games ?
at 13:55 4 Nov 2025

Tonda Eckert is now the third favourite ( behind Martin and Carrick ) to take over as the next permanent Saints Manager.

I’ve a horrible feeling that if we beat Q P R tomorrow and Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday the current shower that own and control our club will not be able to resist a further crack at another young, unproven, no cost to them wild card appointment.

Better perhaps to lose so that those in authority finally realise how bad things are at playing level ?

You and I called it correctly from day one Southamptonfan, he was not the correct man for the job.

Equally as much I got it completely wrong this morning when I Posted that I thought Sports Republic would stick with him for the rest of the season.

Confession is good for soul I suppose !

Where do we go from here ? I’ve simply no idea much I suspect the same as Sports Republic.

Spot on.

They simply want to own and run a player trading company with a fun fair attached in my opinion.

The Saints football team that we all knew and loved now appears to me to be merely a necessary evil for them, and is but a vehicle used to enable them to run their primary interest.

I suspect that Mr Still won’t be going anywhere soon.

I think you would find that it would cost them Grim, simply because they would have to settle Still’s contract if they sacked him.

Could put him on gardening leave I suppose but would still need to pay him.

As for Lallana taking over. Personally I’d rather continue with Still given the way Adam left us for Liverpool.

Thanks for the additional information.

So in broad brush terms, he lost one of his businesses and the current owners were told to pay him £250 million compensation.

Has the £250 million now been paid to him ?

Look at the facts from the owners point of view :-

1. The Guy who owns 80% of the club allegedly has financial problems to the tune of £250 million.

2. The other owner with 20% appears to be nowhere to be seen.

3. The club’s director of football is suggested to be head hunted by a major Italian club.

4. The club invested ( not sure if that’s the correct word ) £50 million in players during the last window.

5. The team is three wins and a draw away from the sixth placed team with nearly a third of the season completed, so promotion whilst not impossible, appears to be very unlikely.

6. With the quality of the squad assembled, even with Mr Still’s obvious current ineptitude, there is every likelihood that the team will finish lower mid table and just about avoid relegation.

Given the above, what possible benefit to the owners is there in replacing Mr Still given the additional cost to them in so doing ?

In summary, this season from a fans perspective is over and I fully expect the owners to now tough it out until next season, and in the upcoming Summer they will probably sell any decent players left and thus attempt to make a profit.

I genuinely hope I’m wrong but that’s how I see it. Other opinions are of course welcome.

A broken Club with a broken Manager and a broken Team.
at 17:45 1 Nov 2025

Our Owners appear to want and own a player trading business with a fun fair attached.

Our Manager appears to be doing everything he can to get the sack as early as possible and have his contract terminated thus picking up a massive payday, enabling him to remain in the UK with his girlfriend.

Our Players appear to have no ambition other than to want to collect their massive salaries every month.

Any wonder that our once famous club is now a complete shambles and laughing stock of the footballing world ?

Yes, it’s suggested that an additional £6bn will be raised but not from “ working people “ thus enabling them to honour their election manifesto pledge at least in part.
