Perhaps because they are really not very good ? |

I once watched it avidly, not any more however because It’s now over hyped nonsense. I believe I’m correct in saying that a couple of weeks ago two cars were disqualified after a race because the wooden skid boards under them were not thick enough. When tested the discrepancy was found to be the thickness of a human hair or so it was suggested. |
 | Forum Thread | What was Bazunu doing for their winning goal ? at 19:45 29 Nov 2025
Twice beaten from outside the big box, although their second goal was mainly down to Aribo for standing off and turning away from the shot. Third goal, he didn’t go for the cross or alternately make himself “ big “ at the near post. He’s at best an average keeper and at worst a liability. Who knows the number of points that between them he and McCarthy have cost us. |

Surprised nobody else has mentioned him:- Jimmy Greaves, simply because he made goal scoring look so easy. He never appeared to hit the ball hard and just stroked it into the net. |

I watched the game on T V so couldn’t see all of what he “contributed”. Nonetheless, from what I did see on the TV, the thing that frustrates me is that when he looses the ball he doesn’t tackle back. He appears to simply give up and amble about. Not certain but I believe the commentary suggested that he has a four year contract with us. Hmm. |

Given the nature of his sides defeat and what the result must have meant to him, I thought that he was very gracious towards us in his post match interview. A few moans about being without injured players and of course a loan deal excluded Bree, but overall he redeemed himself a good deal by accepting that we were simply better and deserved to win. |

I hope that Bazunu is better today than Bazball was in Australia. Takes some doing to lose a test match in less than two complete days. And the Poms played without arguably their best player and captain. |

I suspect that in those circumstances Eckert will be out of the door and Lallana will be given the gig on an “ interim “ basis. Rinse and repeat with Sports Republic having paid Eckert very little (if any) compensation, for losing his original job, just like Rusk. |

Come on Pat, the loons never communicate properly to the fans about anything vaguely football related. On the other hand if they had extended the Fun Fair with a Hellter Skellter we would all have had two or three emails by now. |

Will England win it ? No. They will do what they always do :- Walk the qualifiers. Get drawn in an easy group and beat a load of no hopers. Fold at first exposure to any decent team. Return home with tales of “ if only.” Exactly the same as every major competition since 1966. It’s the English professional footballers way. Over paid Serial Losers. [Post edited 17 Nov 11:16]

Thanks for your forgiveness david. All joking aside. Yes, I would rather take a chance and go back to our previous struggles with possible administration and rise again from the lower leagues, than continue with (as a contributor to another Ugly article puts it ) this bunch of loons. Mind you, my opinion is probably coloured in that I’m of the view that Sports Republics aims and those of Southampton Football Clubs fans are no longer compatible. They appear to want to own and run a Player Trading and Fun Fair Business were as most of us just want a competitive football team which is once again fun to watch and support. |

“ Furthermore you don’t have to look too far to see utterly disastrous owners we could have had, eg Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn, Portsmouth, Cardiff “. Strange logic if you don’t mind me saying so david. Your suggestion would look a lot better if we were mid table in The Premiership. However, last time I looked we are in the same league as three out of the four examples you advocate as being disastrous and by implication with owners worse than ours. Not forgetting of course two relegations in three years, the second worst Premiership points record ever and the worst lack of winning results over a fifty match sequence in the history of English league football. On that basis please forgive me if I continue to wish for a change of ownership. [Post edited 15 Nov 12:12]

 | Forum Thread | Please Sports Republic’s Owners just sell up and go. at 12:30 14 Nov 2025
We play Charlton a week tomorrow and still no statement from the Club who our manager will be even though Will Still was sacked nearly a fortnight ago. Strong suggestion that the job will be given on an interim ( whatever that means ) basis to a very young man who’s only claim to fame is managing an under 21’s football team and winning two games against very mediocre Championship teams. The Uglies own poll suggests that two out of every three who voted don’t want him as manager. It’s increasingly obvious that you don’t have the faintest clue how to run our Club. Do the decent thing and depart please. Their really is no future for you as the custodians of our Club. |

100% with you Southamptonfan. You and I called it correctly with Still and now there is a strong suggestion that Sports Republic may go down the same route again. It’s almost as though they don’t care who the manager is as long as they can run their Player Trading and Fun Fair Business, which of course is their prerogative. The poll asking who wants him as the next manager shows less than 25 % in favour but it probably counts for nothing as far as Sports Republic are concerned. Bookies have Tonda at 4/7 and let’s face it they don’t usually get it wrong. |
