Thread | Are Saints funds being used to fund a Turkish Div 2 club?

With the news that both Lis and Lyanco could be off to the 2nd division Turkish club our owners are in the process of buying you have to think if this is a good thing for our club or is PL money being used to improve the net worth of the owner's other assets?
There is no way a Turkish lower league club could afford the wages either player are on and players of their age/experience will not be gaining anything from playing at this low level. However, if both contribute to the club getting promoted to the Turkish PL then the owners will be left with an asset worth far more than their purchase price.
The Lis deal seemed off from the start. Why sign an out of contract 25 year old player when we already have 3 senior keepers and our number 1 keeper is a lot younger than 25. Lis can't exactly be said to be one for the future. It's very likely he'll never even play for us and was signed specifically to play for the owners's other club.
Given we are the poorest PL club should we be spending what little funds we have in this way?

I think it's a deeper issue with Gazza. I think he did have mental health issues from a younger age, and had it not been for the structure provided by football, I don't think he would have been able to look after himself and would have probably ended up from an early age at some form of mental health medical facility.
His alcoholism was just a by product of this. |

Well you've managed to get that 100% the wrong way around!
Our academy has been very poor the past few years, but has improved immeasurably over the past couple of seasons to the point where we won the Southern Division of the PL Academy league this year.
If our Academy wasn't very good then Chelsea wouldn't be signing players from it now would they? |

Ah, ok so thousands and thousands of working class nurses on barely more than minimum pay and are all gagged by NDAs? It's amazing that not one of them has spoken out. I guess it's a very watertight NDA.

Would that be the lack of danger Covid poses to them when Johnson was in intensive care and almost died of it?
Unless, that is, if you believe yet another of the loon's MLT's Conspiracy theories that this was also fake and the hospital and all of the NHS nurses were in on it... |

Best was an alcoholic but, unlike MLT, didn't have mental health issues. In the years before his death he had married again, had a nice house in Surrey, was working for Sky Sports and also wrote a very intelligent and entertaining weekly column for one of the Sunday papers. It really seemed he had turned his life around but, sadly, he could not stay away from alcohol. |

Explanation for what? You seem to be getting a bit confused. The things you list are examples of people in government behaving badly. The explanation is that they are the sort of people who behave badly.
Have you got an explanation for the conspiracy theories put forward by nutters/loons Icke and MLT? For example Icke's thoughts that we are being rules by lizard people or MLT's that the PM of Tanzania was murdered on the behest of Bill Gates and that the people filmed dying in Italian hospitals of Covid were in fact being played by actors. |

The bloke was a good footballer but has turned into a complete nutter. It's fair enough that he's lost all his income and is reduced to posting his inane ramblings on Gettr (in front of dozen fellow loons much like your good-self I assume) and also hawking birthday greetings for 20 quid a pop.
It's funny how headcases like him and Icke manage to attract a sizable number of devout followers who will defend them to the hilt. I guess the world is full of thick people. |
