Talks are believed to be at an advanced stage with the Football Association and football league for permission to change the 125 year name of Southampton Football Club, its believed that the owners of Saints are keen to expand the clubs horizons and have been involved in the hush hush talks being held by FIFA to form a World Football league. FIFA believe the way forward in World Football is to integrate countries like Japan, USA & China into a World league, to capture the imagination of cynical supporters in those countries that see Football or Soccer as some call it, who see it as a minority sport for kids. Several English clubs have already dropped out of the project finding some of the requirements to be unacceptable, Man Utd fell short of the rule that said 50% of season ticket holders had to live within a 200 mile radius, Spurs where expelled after NATO imposed a no Twitch zone in the Edmonton area and Chelsea are now part of the Russian FA and dont come under English juristriction. Saints though were the most enthusiastic club and were willing to comply with all requirements including the one regarding that in an American way team names should include a descriptive of the area they are from. So Southampton Football Club will become Solent City Alpine Saints and will be recognised by FIFA & UEFA as the team representing what will be officially declared the new county of Solent City in 2015 boundary changes.
