![]() Thursday, 1st Apr 2010 07:08 Andy Legg is feeling the nerves as Wales prepares for it's biggest derby yet Legg played for both Swansea City and Cardiff City and believes that Saturday will see more pressure on the Swans than the Bluebirds because of the recent form of both sides. Whilst the home team have slipped back into form, the Swans have won just once in seven games and sit three points behind their local rivals in the play off positions. Legg also believes that it is great to see two Welsh sides looking for Premier League football and he told the Western Mail “The Swans have dipped in form a bit, but are still in the play offs – a bit like Cardiff last term “I just think it’s more important to Swansea to come away with points than Cardiff on this particular occasion because Swansea need to stop the rot now. “If they don’t they could slide out of the top six at this vital stage of the season. It’s so important for them to stay in the frame. “Cardiff had a really good result against Leicester this week and Swansea are struggling to find form. But come kick-off time it’s a derby game and anything could happen. “The one certainty though is that with the positions the two clubs find themselves in it’s the biggest derby for many a year. “You can almost feel the tension around you as Saturday gets nearer. This just going to be massive. “For me it is just great that two Welsh clubs are up there slogging it out for promotion to the Premiership. “I feel it is going to be a fantastic occasion for the supporters and I for one will be at the game as a spectator. “Pushed into a corner I think Cardiff just have the edge on Swansea at the moment, but I do also think that Swansea will finish in a play-off spot come the end of the season. “Managers tend to play games down to take the pressure off the players,” he said. “Both managers are more than aware it’s all about three points and that you don’t get extra points for winning a derby. “But when you’re on that pitch and 25,000 supporters are breathing down your neck you want to win. There are so many players from outside the area these days that this derby is different to those in the past.” Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
