All Bad Runs Have To Come To An End ! Friday, 1st Apr 2016 08:00 Saints aim to end a run of failing to win a game the week after a weekend break for the first time in 18 months. At the start of last season it seemed to agree with Saints when they had a weekend off, the 8-0 destruction of Sunderland and the 4-0 drubbing of Newcastle were both achieved after a weekend off for Internationals. But since then Saints have failed to win all eight of the next games after a break the previous weekend. The run started with a 1-1 draw away to Sunderland last season and since then in a further 7 attempts Saints have not won following a break. Incredibly though on each occasion bar one they went into the break on the back of a win with the other game being a draw. That is of course the case now having beaten Liverpool at St Mary's and now they need to beat Leicester City and break this strange run. The problem for Saints is that they have so many away on International duty weekends, of course the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, City, Chelsea etc have the same problem, but they have bigger and stronger squads than Saints, who themselves have more on international duty that the likes of Leicester, West Ham and clubs below them in the Premier. Saints can do it though, all bad runs have to come to an end and Saints have always had this strange knack of pulling out a good win in games that they are very much the underdogs in and that is certainly the case as they head to the King Power Stadium.
