No Injury Fresh Concerns For Southampton Ahead Of Semi Final With Leicester
Friday, 16th Apr 2021 15:25

Saints fans will be relived to hear that Ralph Hasenhuttl has no further injury issues to his squad for the trip to Wembley to face Leicester City in the FA Cup semi final on Sunday, in fact there is some good news as well on one of the long term injuries

Saints have had an injury free week meaning that the only first team regular missing from injury for the game against Leicester City will be Oriol Romeu, although of course Takumi Minamino is cup tied.

There is also some good news in that striker Michael Obafemi has returned to training this week after several months out.

Speaking to the media ahead of Sunday's match Hasenhuttl had this to say:

"So far, we have no new injuries from the last game.

"Michael Obafemi is back in training, but too early for him - and we are still without Oriol Romeu and Will Smallbone,"

Although Obafemi will not be in contention for the Wembley game, he could well feature in the remaining games in the Premier League and will again offer Ralph more options.

I've been waiting for news on Obafemi fitness. I like the boys' opportunistic approach to the game. He's a bit of an unknown customer, and his comeback couldn't have been timed better. On his day, he is a proper center forward. Just ask Pumpkin man and Lindelöf.

What team will Ralph put out in this game hopefully not the same as Monday nights fiasco. I think Adams and Djenepo must start as they were the only players who looked like they were trying. Walcott and Redmond should should not start in the same team and for this game should both be on the bench.
