Sunday, 17th Mar 2024 20:51

Ralph Hasenhuttl has spent over 17 months kicking his heels since being sacked by Southampton in November 2022, but now he his back in the game in Germany

Ralph Hasenhuttl has been announced as the new manager of Bundesliga side Wolfsburg and he will be facing a familiar fight as he was in when he left Saints.

The BBC have announced that the man who was the first Austrian to manage in the Premier League when he arrived at St Mary's in December 2018 is the man Wolfsburg are putting their faith in to keep them out of the relegation zone.

Hasenhuttl who became the longest serving manager that the club had had since the sacking of Chris Nicholl in the summer of 1991 will take over a club who are just six points ahead of Mainz, who currently occupy 16th place and whoever finishes in that position will compete in the relegation play-off.
