Martin rang the changes and brought in the fresh faces that many on this and other sites wanted to see. What a good first half hour too, though it is a worry perhaps that our main offensive threat is a teenager with zero PL starts to his name. But then, oh dear me! Archer was about as poor as Adam A has been to date, though I would have bet on Arma to dispatch that penalty! Acres of space opened up in midfield and the back and Man U took full advantage. Super disappointing second half - we did absolutely nothing even with the subs. Positively speaking, we have options, we have (some) quality but the balance isn’t right yet. We still look
awfully lightweight in many areas of the field. Thank goodness we have Ramsdale - he is going to get a lot of work while we sort this out. Hopefully Bednarek and THB will settle in the right middle defence pairing.

Well at least we found a way to finally get Stephens out the team for a while, we looked a lot better for 30 minute until the really bad penalty attempt.Tyler Dibling looks to be a really good player if he can stay injury free,in the end a disappointing result but kind of seen it coming but at least RM did change it up and for a while we looked a lot more of a team that could get a result.Glad to see Stewart get on the pitch hope he stays fit as we need someone who knows we’re the back of the net is because one goal in 4 won’t make it.

Frustrating. We played really well for 30 minutes but once again couldn't convert.

The penalty miss changed the game. Why though was Archer taking it - he's never taken a penalty in a live game before. He didn't look happy about it. Diaz has taken 7 and scored 7! Who made that decision?

Two soft goals from corners then followed.

Second half was useless. Stephens then shows why he is rated so poorly by most fans and gets himself sent off for a wild challenge. He was also at fault for one of the soft goals.

Positives, in this order the set up was right from the start, Dibling- fantastic, Ramsdale, Sugawara and Fernandes, The subs were the right choice, seeing Stewart actually playing and sorry but no Jack Stephens for 3 games

I see progress but we need to start adding goals and points or we are going to be too far adrift

Not as bad as the scoreline suggests but still not great. at least RM should know what the best formation is and with JS banned will give THB and Janny B a chance to play together in a 4. JS at fault for first and Archer for second. Looking forward main problem is complete lack of cutting edge with lots of players struggling with the system. Downes was not great today and seemed to be in same space as Big Les. Fernandez was too far forward and cramping out Dibling who you need to have taking on people. Archer poor and not very confident. Diaz is a waste of time that wide out on the flanks. Was also a bit disappointed with Cornet when he came on. Please not another wide man with no end product. No idea why Diaz didnt take the penalty, he had hold of the ball for long enough. Now he has the formation he quickly has to work out the best combination.

Truth is, we never stood a chance in this game, as we've many new players who've yet to cohere as a team, and it was right after the September international break (which, as far as I'm concerned—mind you, I'm not a fan of international football—should never be allowed to occur; it's too early into the club season, it rarely produces good football, and it's an empty distraction for players and fans). A loss in this match was automatic as soon as the FIFA calendar was written. In the meantime, as other comments have observed, there were a few bright spots: the football was more direct (with the 4-4-2); Ramsdale is as advertised (he'll be very busy this season); Dibling appears to be the real deal; Stephens is—finally!—out of the side.

Diblings run down the right early on lifted the team and the whole stadium The atmosphere then carried the players to the best spell of football we have seen from them this season We controlled the game and made utd look less than ordinary All our effort resulted in a penalty award because they just couldn't get the measure of Dibling
The penalty miss and their quick response deflated the stadium and the team and from there on there was only going to be one winner
I have yet to see a relpay of the first goal but from my seat it looked as if Rambo could have come for the cross and at least punched it clear
The tackle by JS was a definite red I still think the club should appeal it and possibly get the ban extended to 6 games

Great first 30 minutes but fell apart after the penalty miss and poor in second half with no efforts on target and Utd controlling the game.

Ramsdale did well but Tyling really stood out. Great to see Ross Stewart back on the pitch. I have high hopes for him.

Walker-Peters was caught up field too often and we were outnumbered too often at the back.

Tactics seemed different partly as Ramsdale kicks long far more often and we tried to get some through balls but it all rather petered out

Felt the sending off was harsh at the time and partly brought on by the rolling around of the attacker but seeing the replay of it can have no complaints as foot was unnecessarily high and studs up.

Everton on Tuesday gives a good chance for experimenting a bit. Love to see Stewart start.
