Who haven't you........ 19:30 - Dec 8 with 4980 viewsSteTsGoldenBoot

Seen us play against in the current FL? Friendly matches do count.

I ended up with a disappointing Eleven.

Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Chelsea, Toon, Sunderland, Villa, Derby, Ipswich, Reading and Millwall.

Have we played all of these teams TVOS?

Everything thats been, has past. The answers in the looking glass!

Hopefully I'll cross Millwall off in the home game :-)

I’m sure Dale played Villa in the Youth Cup several years ago

We have played Villa, Derby, Reading and Millwall in the league and Arsenal and Chelsea in the FA Cup.

The teams we have never played against in a league match are Chelsea *, Everton, Leicester *, Sunderland, Man United *, Man City *, Spurs, Arsenal *, West Ham, Newcastle, Liverpool *, WBA, Birmingham *, Ipswich, Leeds *, Middlesbrough * and Forest *.

(The * teams we have played in cup ties)

Out of your list, Ste, I've seen us play Reading and Millwall.

Which team, apart from Dale, have you seen the most number of times against different opposition?

For me it would be Fulham: I've seen them v Dale, Liverpool, Blackburn and Forest.

Poll: Should Bury shop elsewhere for frames?

I remember us battering Reading 4-1 in 1983. A rare highlight.

Aye, that's the one. Even Vernon Allatt got a brace.

I think I saw Norwich play West Ham at least 12 times and Southampton about the same. Lots of cup ties with them along with yo-yo ing between divisions

If we're allowed friendlies we beat Everton 4-3 the year we got promoted the first time. Still the best performance I've ever seen from a Rochdale team. It wad the full Everton first team, Alan Ball etc and they really did not want to lose. They won the First a Division Championship that year.

Saw us play Fulham (with Johnny Haynes) , Villa, Bolton, Blackburn, Barrow Workington and Southport in league games.

Spot the bait ;-)

Even better than when we beat Den Bosch 7-2 in our international friendly.??? I thought we would take the league by storm that year after that night, but it ended up same old story ( can't remember the year?)

Surely it'd be Forest?

Oldham v Villa, Southampton, Scarborough, Hull, Brighton, Stoke, Burnley, Dale, Forest and probably quite a few more.

Forest v Dale, Preston, Oldham, Burnley, Wigan, Bolton & Barnsley.

Burnley v Dale, Newcastle, Oldham, Plymouth, Forest & Brighton

I think it was 1978 or 79 but could be wrong. We looked like Real Madrid that night, although if I remember rightly we went a goal behind in the game and DB played excellently at first but slowly deteriorated.

That was the highlight of our season and it was a pre- season friendly!!

I have not seen us play against:

Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Spurs, West Ham, Everton, WBA, Chelsea, Newcastle, Sunderland, Villa, Middlesbrough, Derby, Ipswich, Reading, MK, Bolton

Ignoring the 7 we have never played, that leaves 10.

Seen Leeds v Dale, Liverpool, Everton, Man U, ManC, Coventry, Ipswich, Newcastle, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Sheff U, QPR, Tottenham, Chelsea, Middlesbrough.

Most random game seen was probably Mansfield v Orient when I was about 8 - family get together at my uncle's. Two Leeds fans, a Hull season ticket holder and his Barnsley supporting son all going to Field Mill for something to do. Wasn't a bad game, either...

I didn't see the Den Bosch game but this was Everton's first team of full and U-23 current Internationals - Gordon West, Tommy Wright, Howard Kendall, Brian Labone, Colin Harvey, Alan Ball, Joe Royle , Alan Whittle etc.. Not some team I'd never heard of.

Everton were busting a gut not to lose the game. It was the most meaningful friendly I've ever seen.

Probably the old Wimbledon.
Used to watch them regularly if they were up North and Dale didn't have a game.
Mind you...I used to watch Dale home and away in those days.
